This is a Chelsea predicted lineup for their Europa Conference League second leg clash with Legia Warsaw. The Blues take a commanding 3-0 lead into this one which could allow them the freedom to rotate and include academy standouts like Josh Acheampong, Tyrique George, and maybe Shim Mheuka. After slipping out of the Champions League spots there will likely be a focus on keeping the squad healthy for the remaining league games.
Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Legia in Europa Conference League Second Leg
How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently
Rob Sanchez is the league goalkeeper while Filip Jorgensen has been firmly slotted into the role as secondary European starter. The back line has been a bit of a jumble with Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Malo Gusto, Acheampong, Marc Cucurella, and Reece James all starting in various positions across the back line.

James has also played in midfield, where Moises Caicedo usually partners Enzo Fernandez, while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall offers a rotation option. Cole Palmer is the main attacking midfielder through the middle with George, Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto, and Jadon Sancho competing for spots on the wing. Nicolas Jackson is the striker usually with Christopher Nkunku as backup.
Chelsea Recent Form & Tactics
Enzo Maresca has been using his fluid 4-2-3-1 into a 3-2-4-1 recently but has shifted into a more attacking variant recently, instead of the box in midfield it becomes more of a diamond with one defensive midfielder behind a line of three and two wingers, with the striker up front. It is something like a 2-2-6 or 2-2-5-1 where Cucurella tends to join one of the defensive midfielders in crashing the box alongside Palmer. It allows them to get more bodies into chance creating areas and to dominate the ball a bit more.

The results have been mixed. Draws with Brentford and Ipswich were offset by a win over a very poor Tottenham Hotspur team and the first leg victory over Legia, while a 1-0 loss to Arsenal remains one of their main moments of weakness in that stretch. A good run of defensive performances was undone by letting the Tractor Boys score twice at the weekend.
Chelsea Injuries to Consider
Per PremierInjuries, there are four absences from the senior squad. Mykhailo Mudryk is suspended indefinitely but injury wise its Wesley Fofana, Romao Lavia, and Marc Guiu that were unavailable at the weekend. Omari Kellyman is also included on that list but he’s more of a PL2/development player.
