Tottenham Hotspur’s season goes from bad to worse with yet another injury. Radu Dragusin had become an important backup player in recent weeks but a devastating ACL tear will see him sidelined until next season.
Radu Dragusin Injury Ends His Season
Dragusin Suffers ACL Injury
Jack Pitt-Brooke of the Athletic has reported that Dragusin– who has been the replacement for the injured Cristian Romero and Micky Van De Ven has torn his ACL, which puts an end to his campaign.
The defender has been left sidelined since his side’s 3-0 victory in the Europa League group-stage clash with Elfsborg. He was brought on to replace Van De Ven at half-time before being forced off just 20 minutes into his cameo.

This led to him missing out on Spurs’ victory last time against Brentford and thus furthered their injury crisis.
With Postecoglou saying it “doesn’t look good” and the injury revealed to be an ACL, it looks like he will be out for a while and may struggle to get back to his best.
More Misery for Tottenham Hotspur
2024/25 has been a tough season for the Lilywhites, which sees them in an abysmal 15th place in the league. The injuries have been a major factor in this run of form but losses to sides like Leicester and Everton are inexcusable; regardless of having a depleted squad.
Dragusin’s injury adds to the many players sidelined across the squad. The likes of Romero, Van De Ven and Destiny Udogie have all been sidelined this season, which leads to questions about Postecoglou’s system.

The high line utilised by the Australian leaves his centre-backs covering huge spaces in transition, especially with how high the full-backs push. Therefore, both Van de Ven and Romero are forced to cover so much distance and this isn’t sustainable as seen by the duo’s injury record.
However, the signing of Kevin Danso does provide hope. RC Lens’ Austrian centre-back has departed on a loan with an option to buy and could be the solution to the club’s recent setbacks.
