Since Amorim’s arrival in November, Manchester United have switched to a 3-4-2-1 formation, with André Onana the number-one choice goalkeeper.

Noussair Mazraoui, Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot have rotated at wing-back, with Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte becoming the go-to pairing in centre midfield. Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho have rotated in the attacking midfield positions, with Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund doing the same at centre-forward.

After an uptick in form that saw United go unbeaten against Liverpool and Southampton in the league and Arsenal in the FA Cup, the defeat to Brighton last weekend plummeted the mood amongst the fanbase yet again, with the Red Devils dropping to 13th position in the league.
