Ivan Toney’s Ambition
The 27-year-old’s rise to prominence in English football has been nothing short of impressive. Having made a name for himself at Brentford, he has set his sights on a new adventure at a top club. As per Romano, the “amazing” player wants to leave the Bees in 2024 and has also appointed a new agent for this purpose.
While several clubs, including Italian sides, have expressed interest in acquiring Toney’s services, the Premier League remains the priority for the prolific striker.
Interest From London Rivals
Two Premier League heavyweights, Arsenal and Chelsea, have shown keen interest in securing the former Newcastle United man’s services. Both clubs have made inquiries and sought information regarding the player’s potential availability. While the Gunners have expressed interest, it is important to note that they have yet to decide on their approach to signing a striker in January.
What Would Toney Bring to the Gunners?
Adding Ivan Toney would give the North London side’s attack a new dimension. Despite good performances from the likes of Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Arteta’s side lack a proper target-man type forward who can cause problems in the opposition box with his physicality.

At Brentford, Toney has contributed with 32 goals and 9 assists across 66 Premier League appearances. He could provide a direct threat in the box which is something Arsenal lack at this point in time.
If Edu Gaspar and Arteta decide to pursue this option, it could prove to be a massive shot in the arm for a young side chasing titles this season.
