Liverpool Lineup Prediction vs Tottenham Hotspur

How Liverpool Have Lined-up Recently

When fully fit, Liverpool line up in a 4-3-3, with a 4-1-2-1-2 being the more common option at the moment. Alisson plays in net, with protection for Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk at centre-back. Trent Alexander-Arnold starts at right-back with Andy Robertson on the opposite flank. Fabinho sits in defensive midfield.

Jordan Henderson and Thiago offer more creative outlets in the midfield, with Roberto Firmino dropping deeper than the rest of the attacking line. Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez start in front of him, providing the main finishing force.

Liverpool Recent Form and Tactics

Liverpool’s tactics rely on a high standard of gegenpressing and dominating the ball, winning the ball quickly before rushing up the pitch and causing quick chances. However, this makes the Reds vulnerable to a high press themselves, with more aggressive teams tending to cut them open.

The Anfield side’s current run of form in the league is somewhat dire. The two most recent results were a loss to Leeds United and a loss to Nottingham Forest, with Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk looking far from their best. Wins against Manchester City, Ajax and Napoli can bring some reassurance, but the side look wobbly domestically.

Liverpool Injuries to Consider

Jurgen Klopp’s side have some serious injuries to contend with. Luis Diaz, Arthur and Diogo Jota are all ruled out of the match at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, with Naby Keita and Joel Matip also needing to take some time for recovery.

There are a couple of players that could return for the German coach, with Jordan Henderson fit to play. James Milner is undergoing a concussion protocol, so will likely miss out.
