Aston Villa Forward Joins Watford on Loan

Aston Villa forward Keinan Davis has often been left wanting regular minutes. Whether it be in the Championship or the Premier League, he has never been a starter at Villa Park. He performed well on loan with Nottingham Forest last term and he is now off again. Watford have announced that they’ve captured Davis for the season.

Where the Aston Villa Forward Will Fit In at Watford

This transfer window has been dominated by talk of departures at Vicarage Road. Nigeria international Emmanuel Dennis has joined Nottingham Forest. In the meantime, Ismaila Sarr has various Premier League teams pursuing of him. As they depart, here enters Aston Villa forward Keinan Davis.

Injuries hindered Davis last term at the City Ground but it was still him at his most productive. 2017/18 for the Villains was the season in which he racked up the most minutes whereas last term, he still surpassed 1,000 and was performing in front of goal. In his 18 appearances, 15 of which were starts, he contributed five goals and two assists to the Steve Cooper cause.

Brennan Johnson was the headliner for Forest and rightly so but Davis’ impact shouldn’t be understated. As a result of the departure of Dennis, the Aston Villa forward has a big opportunity here. Rob Edwards will be hoping that he and Joao Pedro strike up quite the partnership.

A Busy Window for Steven Gerrard

Steven Gerrard has made quite an impact, for better or for worse, since arriving in Birmingham. Highly-rated teenager Carney Chukwuemeka leaving for Chelsea was quite a blow but there have been a number of incomings too. Philippe Coutinho was a revelation on loan and his return to the Premier League has now been made permanent.

It is clear that the frontline isn’t a place of need with the Aston Villa forward going out on loan. On top of that, the other arrivals are elsewhere on the field. They beat Newcastle United to the signature of Brazilian centre-half Diego Carlos from Sevilla. Swedish goalkeeper Robin Olsen and young Frenchman Boubacar Kamara also came through the door.
