Fee Agreed: Manchester United Take Massive Step Towards Signing £175k-a-Week 27-Year-Old; Only One Obstacle Left

According to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle with Juventus over the signing of Adrien Rabiot. Red Devils Desperately Need a Midfielder; Rabiot Is an Experienced Option

In desperate need of a midfielder, United are now seeking a deal for Rabiot as their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong stalls.

The 27-year-old, who currently makes £175k per week at Juventus, is very experienced at the top of the game. Across ten seasons, he has amassed 55 Champions League appearances and 3,795 minutes in the competition.

He also has 257 appearances in Ligue Un and Serie A combined after spells with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, and has scored 31 goals and assisted 23 during his career.

Despite this, he seemingly reached his peek around 2018, and since then has failed to impress while playing in Turin at the Allianz Stadium.

Either way, he would likely be an improvement on what the Red Devils have in central midfield at the moment.

Fred and Scott McTominay thoroughly disappointed during the miserable defeat at the hands of Brighton that Erik Ten Hag’s side were dealt on Sunday. It was always known that United’s midfield was a weak point, and thus they have pursued De Jong for a number of months now. Despite this, he is yet to agree to a move to Old Trafford, and as such they have had to open themselves up to other options.
