Player “Ready to Fly to England” as Liverpool Complete Latest Transfer; Details of Contract Revealed

Darwin Nunez

Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez is ready to fly to England in order to complete his move to Liverpool, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Benfica man has been the subject of heavy interest from the likes of Manchester United this summer, but Jurgen Klopp’s side have acted quickly and secured the move early on in the transfer window.

In Romano’s tweet, he revealed: “Darwin Nunez will fly to Spain in the coming hours, then [the] Uruguayan striker will be ready to fly to England in order to complete [his] move to Liverpool once contracts are signed with Benfica”.

Romano then went on to mention the details of Nunez’s potential contract at Anfield: “Final details discussed: five or six year deal. Contract could be valid until 2028”.

A Great Addition for Liverpool Who Fought off the Competition

It was imperative for Liverpool that they add an attacker to their ranks this summer, and they appear to already have done so despite it being early in the window. The Reds have conducted their business swiftly in a very impressive manner, identifying their primary target and quickly executing a deal for him.

With Sadio Mane set to leave Merseyside this summer, Klopp’s iconic front three of Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Mohamed Salah is set to be broken up. In fact, Salah’s future at Anfield is also in the balance, with the Egyptian prepared to join Premier League rivals if Liverpool do not significantly improve their contract offer.

With one, and potentially another, key player set to leave, the 2021/22 FA Cup winners had to sign at least one replacement this summer, and Nunez is the perfect addition. He can play on the left wing or in the centre of the attack, and being just 22 years of age means he has plenty of time left at the top of the game.
