Inter Milan Centre-Back

The Inter Milan centre-back transfer wishlist has grown to include Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina, according to Fabrizio Romano. Inter have had personal terms agreed with Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, but still have not found an agreement with Torino. For this reason, they are monitoring other targets.

In addition, star Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar is being watched by other clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain. Changes may be coming in the Inter defence.

A Strong Option

Although Milenkovic may not be Inter’s first option, he remains a strong option. Bremer was awarded Serie A’s Defender of the Year award this past season, but Milenkovic rarely sees the credit he deserves. Perhaps it’s the fact that he played for Fiorentina, so he has not played in many European competitions, but he always performs well domestically.

Milenkovic has been a constant starter for Fiorentina for the last four seasons. Considering he’s just 24-years-old, he began impressing at a young age. He also already holds 36 caps for Serbia at such a young age. Equally as impressive, Milenkovic has scored three international goals as a defender.

Primarily a centre-back, Milenkovic has also spent time playing right-back. He’s quite versatile.

As of now, Inter only has three true centre-backs on the squad. This includes Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, and Alessandro Bastoni. Considering the team typically plays with three in the back, they need to add depth. What makes this interesting too is that Milenkovic is certainly worth a starting spot, so it begs the question if Inter know they may lose one of their current players.
