The Player and the Fit

Inter hold the claim as the reigning Serie A champions. The club are still in the running this season as well. Inter sit third in the Serie A table with 60 points. Napoli are second with 63 points and AC Milan lead the way with 66 points. However, Inter do have a match in hand on their Scudetto rivals.

The backbone of Inter’s success last season was their stout defence. It is once again a strength of theirs as Inter are second in the league in goals allowed throughout the season. They’ve conceded 24 goals while Napoli are first with just 22.

Bremer is just 25-years-old and entering his prime. He’s been a star with Torino this season, and all of Serie A is on notice. Torino, however, aren’t the pinnacle of Italian domestic football so Bremer is destined to leave with the kind of performances he’s putting in.

Inter’s current pack of centre-backs includes Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni, and Andrea Ranocchia. Skriniar is the star of the bunch and wants to remain with the club. De Vrij is vastly experienced in Italy but is now 30-years-old, so Bremer may be viewed as a replacement. Bastoni is young and showing major promise, while Ranocchia is a top veteran presence but not a starter.

Bremer is climbing the ranks as a defensive star in Italy. Torino holds a much better defensive record than some clubs above them on the table such as Roma, Lazio, and Fiorentina. Bremer, of course, is a major reason for this. The Brazilian holds star potential and Inter sees this.
