Juventus Full-Back Signs Contract Renewal Until 2025

Juventus full-back

Juventus full-back Mattia De Sciglio is signing a contract renewal until 2025, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. De Sciglio has been a part of the club since 2017 and will stay with the Old Lady for another three years. Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is a believer in the player and prioritised his stay.

Juventus Full-Back Will Stay for Another Three Years

Depth and Experience

Before Juventus, De Sciglio was a member of AC Milan. He played under Allegri there as well. When Allegri moved to Juventus, the manager prioritised bringing De Sciglio with him shortly after. It’s clear that Allegri truly appreciates everything De Sciglio has to offer, on and off the pitch.

First off, De Sciglio is quite versatile. He’s not always first-choice with Juventus, but he still racked up 29 appearances in all competitions this past season. He can play both full-back positions, which is a quality Allegri certainly likes. In addition, De Sciglio falls into the “veteran player” category. He’s 29-years-old but holds prominent club names in his career. He spent several years at Milan, almost as many with Juventus now, and even spent a season with Lyon in France. In addition, De Sciglio made his first Italian National Team appearance in 2013 and has since made 39 more.

He also, of course, holds a number of trophies to his name with Juventus. This includes three Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia, and one Italian Super Cup. He also won a couple of trophies with Milan, so De Sciglio knows what it takes to win in Italy.

Juventus will also be losing a number of key players such as Giorgio Chiellini, Paulo Dybala, and Federico Bernardeschi. These players have been with the club for quite some time, so their departures create holes in the department of club experience. For this reason, holding onto an experienced player like De Sciglio is important for the club.
