Potential Deal Being Discussed
Liverpool have already made one of the standout signings of the January transfer window, bringing in Porto player Luis Diaz for a fee of £50 million. Now the Merseyside club are looking at a lower price but potentially as big a signing with talks taking place over Fulham’s Fabio Carvalho. The 19-year-old attacker fits the mould of young players that Jurgen Klopp likes to nurture and talks over a deal are now said to have intensified.
Sky Sports’ Vinny O’ Connor has also reported news of the potential deal saying that Liverpool are keen to get the deal over the line before the January 31 11pm deadline. Carvalho is out of contract in the summer at Craven Cottage and could be picked up for free at that stage but Liverpool’s efforts show that they have a determination to keep the player out of the grasp of their Premier League rivals.
Fulham have been flying high in the Championship under Marco Silva and although they would not be keen to sell one of their key players, they would also prefer to take £5 million now as opposed to losing the player for nothing in the summer. According to David Lynch, Liverpool have submitted a £5 million bid.
Fulham would want Liverpool to loan the player back to the club as they look to win promotion back to the Premier League and Liverpool are said to be willing to allow that to happen and a compromise is likely to be found between the two clubs who did similar business over the transfer of Harvey Elliott.
With time ticking away in the transfer window, Liverpool are the team making big moves.
