Real Madrid Among Clubs Eyeing Fulham’s Fabio Carvalho

Fabio Carvalho

Following an impressive start to the season with Fulham, young attacker Fabio Carvalho is reportedly being eyed by Real Madrid, reports David Kent of Mail Online. The 19-year-old has scored three goals in five games already in the Championship and Madrid, along with a host of teams in the Premier League, are now keeping close tabs on the England youth international.

Fabio Carvalho of Interest to Real Madrid

Fulham Want Youngster to Sign New Deal

If Fulham were to let Carvalho go this early on in his career, they could regret it later on if his stock continues to rise. Any fee they get now will no doubt be less than what they could get if he stays at Fulham and continues to perform.

The club, therefore, are keen to tie him down to a new contract. Carvalho’s current deal expires at the end of this season and if he doesn’t commit soon, there will be the prospect of losing him on a free transfer.

Premier League Interest

As well as Real Madrid, Kent reports that several clubs from the top ten of the Premier League are keeping tabs on Carvalho too.

However, Fulham’s goal this season is to make an immediate return to the top flight, and if he can continue his form and help take the Cottagers there, he’ll be amongst the starting group of players for next season, whereas this may not be guaranteed at a top ten side.

Marco Silva’s team lead the way in the Championship going into the international break, winning four of their opening five games. They are also the top scorers in the division with 13 following a 5-1 success away at Huddersfield Town and a 3-0 home win against Stoke City.

Their first game following the return of the league season will be a trip to newly-promoted Blackpool.
