Barcelona Still Pushing for Ferran Torres Deal

Ferran Torres

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are still pushing for a deal to sign Manchester City forward Ferran Torres. The news comes despite the fact that the Catalan club are in financial disarray  –  a fact that is far from a secret these days. As per Romano, personal terms have been agreed, with a €50 million bid also lodged. With €10 million standing between Barcelona’s bid and Manchester City’s valuation, however, the deal is far from complete.

Barcelona Still Pushing for Ferran Torres Deal

Torres Can Lead Barcelona Into the Future

There aren’t many attraction points about a move to Barcelona right now. They are a sinking club, with nothing to hold onto. There is one thing that could interest Torres, however. And that’s the chance to become Barcelona’s star man; their poster boy for both the present and the future. At Manchester City, the Spaniard is one of an endless amount of talented players; he is replaceable. At Barcelona, he could be the main man. And that will attract him.

With one move, Torres could go from one of the extras, to the main hero, the main protagonist in Spain. He has the talent to turn Barcelona’s fortunes around, and would be given the opportunity to show that talent at the Nou Camp.

Hakim Ziyech the Plan B

If a deal can’t be reached to take Torres to the Nou Camp, then Barcelona will turn their attention towards Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech, according to Romano. Like Torres, Ziyech is one of many talented stars at Chelsea.

A move to Barcelona would instantly make him the main man with endless game time. At 28-years-old, too, the opportunity may not come around again for the Moroccan to play for one of the most historic clubs football has to offer. January may present him with the chance to make the move.
