For the majority of last summer, Manchester United were pursuing a Jadon Sancho transfer. It was the story of the transfer window, but, come deadline day, there was no big deal for Sancho. A summer later, and United are back where they started and pushing for a deal once more.
According to Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic, the Red Devils are pressing ahead for a deal, but the same problem remains. That problem? The price tag. Last summer, they were not willing to match Borussia Dortmund’s asking price as the Bundesliga side remained stubborn. And it seems that stubbornness has not worn away with time.
According to Whitwell, there is a £20 million gap in valuation for the winger with Dortmund sticking as close as possible to last summer’s valuation. It will certainly test Manchester United’s willingness to finally spend big once more as they look to seal a transfer deal for Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United Must Get This Summer Right
With the negativity surrounding the Glazer family growing more than ever following the fallout of the European Super League, they cannot afford to get this summer wrong; they must show their commitment to the club. And what better way to do that than by securing Jadon Sancho?
Sancho could be the missing piece to solve Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s trophy puzzle. The Norwegian manager took the club to Europa League final and a second place Premier League finish. On paper, it looks an impressive season. In reality, many involved with the club will look back on it with dissatisfaction after coming away without a trophy.
Perhaps Sancho would bring that star quality; quality worthy of securing the biggest of prizes.
Manchester United look the favourites to sign the winger again this summer. It just comes down to how much they are willing to pay.
