Nottingham Forest have submitted a loan-to-buy bid for Peterborough United striker Siriki Dembele, according to reports.

Championship Side Make ‘Loan to Buy’ Offer for Peterborough United Forward

Siriki Dembele Subject to Interest From Nottingham Forest

The Reds will rival several Premier League clubs – including Fulham, Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers – for the League One forward’s signature.

According to Football Insider, the 24-year-old is subject to interest from across the country – and Forest lead the way having tabled a loan offer with a view to buying the forward.

They claim that the Reds have submitted a bid of around £250,000.

There is a history of the Posh producing talented attacking players. The likes of Ivan Toney, Britt Assombalonga, Jack Marriott and Dwight Gayle have all featured for the League One outfit before achieving greater things.

“Rangers have watched Siriki twice as have the Scottish national side,” Posh director of football Barry Fry confirmed to the Peterborough Telegraph. “Newcastle manager Steve Bruce watched him at Crewe when he didn’t play well.

“There will always be interest in players like Siriki, but we don’t have to sell him. We have him for another 18 months and we’d rather he stayed until the summer when we can reassess his situation.”

Dembele, who has already handed in a transfer request, has scored six goals and provided seven assists from 22 matches this season.

Attacking Reinforcements for Forest

Chris Hughton’s side have far from struggled with creativity so far this season, registering the sixth-highest number of shots in the Championship. The main downfall has been a failure to convert their chances.

The Reds have scored only 20 goals so far in the league, but have one of the lowest records for shots on target per match (2.9).

Siriki is a versatile forward who can operate on either wing or down the centre.

Forest already have a number of attacking options. Lewis Grabban and Lyle Taylor are the main options under Hughton, while Miguel Guerrero and Will Swan provide supplementary alternatives.
