Chelsea Manager Frank Lampard Provides Promising Hakim Ziyech Injury Boost

Frank Lampard has provided a Hakim Ziyech injury boost for fans, saying that the new signing is getting closer and closer to full fitness. And, with Chelsea on a poor run of form, they could really use him. Thankfully, Lampard has confirmed that Ziyech could be in contention to play against Manchester City.

In the event that the match is postponed due to City’s COVID-19 outbreak, then Ziyech will certainly be fit after the extended break.

Frank Lampard Provides Injury Update

Speaking to reporters after the Blues’ 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, Lampard confirmed that Ziyech is very close to returning.

“We want him back. There’s a possibility he could be fit for City if it goes ahead,” the Chelsea boss said. “He’s close.”

Lampard also singled out Ziyech’s absence as one of the main reasons for Chelsea’s recent slump, confirming the Moroccan’s monumental impact on the team already after just a few months.

“[It’s] Not a coincidence. [We] can’t rely completely on him. He was very effective for us in terms of creation and goals.”

When on the topic of Ziyech’s impact Lampard said: “It helped, we were very fluid until he got injured.”

Lampard will soon have his star player back, and that will delight him, as well as everybody else in the Chelsea camp.

Chelsea Sorely Miss Ziyech

It’s no surprise that Chelsea are missing one of their best players, but attacking-wise, Hakim Ziyech is the one player they cannot afford to be without at the moment. That’s because the 27-year-old brings a completely different dimension to the team. He has something to a standard that no one else in the Chelsea team has: his vision.

When Ziyech is on the ball, he always looks to create something out of nothing. Whether it’s a switch of play, a through ball into space, or a quick turn and shot, the opposition never really knows what they’re going to get from him. He’s unpredictable, and more importantly, he has the talent to back that up.

He sees passing lanes that no one else on the pitch can see, and he has the quality to execute as well. His combination of drive, ambition, and skill is what has made him such a fan-favorite already. With Christian Pulisic on the left, Ziyech on the right, and Timo Werner up top, Chelsea’s attack is in good hands.

For now, though, they need to turn their form around, and with Ziyech back, they are at full strength again. There are no excuses anymore, it’s time for Chelsea’s stars to dig deep and show their quality.
