REPORT: Vladimir Ivic Set to Be Sacked by Watford

Ivic sacked

After losing 2-0 against Huddersfield Town on Saturday, Watford manager Vladimir Ivic is set to be sacked, according to John Percy of the Telegraph

The reports will not be a surprise for many after the most recent loss left the Hornets 5th and four points away from the automatic promotion spot. Should he suffer the sack, Ivic’s short time of at the club will come to an end having joined just four months ago- signing an initial one year deal.

Watford are quickly becoming known for their managerial ruthlessness, and Ivic was the 12th permanent manager appointed by owner Gino Pazzo in the last eight years. Reports suggest, however, that the search could soon be on for a 13th appointment.

Following Managerial Trend at Watford

As previously alluded, Watford are no strangers to a new managerial appointment, and, in the past, they have dismissed those in charge who have guided the club to better positions than the one Ivic’s side currently holds.

With issues arising between club captain Troy Deeney and Ivic, too, we could see the club favour with the long-term servant of the club over the manager who has had just four months in charge.

The captain was left out of the defeat against Huddersfield due to disciplinary issues. Ivic revealed the reasoning after the game, saying: “I believe that he wasn’t ready to play from the beginning, but the reason he wasn’t able to come on was discipline issue.”

When asked whether Deeney would stay at the club, Ivic said: “I don’t know, we will see. It’s between us, and I don’t want to speak about this.”

The loss added with the issue with the club captain, could prove to be the end of the short-lived Ivic era, who is reportedly set to be sacked by Watford.
