After months of speculation, Dominik Szoboszlai’s future is set to finally be decided. According to Fabrizio Romano, Szoboszlai is set to join RB Leipzig with personal terms to be agreed today.
The midfielder will become the latest of a growing list of players to make the switch from Salzburg to Leipzig and the Bundesliga. The deal, should it be completed, will confirm the news of Arsenal missing out on yet another target.
Szoboszlai Set to Complete RB Leipzig Move
Arsenal Miss Out Yet Again
The list of targets that Arsenal have failed to acquire over the years is likely longer than the one of players they’ve managed to secure. And Szoboszlai just adds to that list. The creative midfielder opted for the safer, and far more secure, RB Leipzig instead.
The fact is, Leipzig, can offer him Champions League football, a place in the top three of the Bundesliga, and a place in a team so full of attacking talent. Arsenal, on the other hand, cannot even guarantee that they’ll be playing any form of European football next season.
The decision to join Leipzig, should the transfer be completed, will pay off in the long run for Szoboszlai in a similar fashion to how Erling Haaland’s move from Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund did.
Szoboszlai the RB Leipzig Signing to Close the Gap on Bayern Munich
Having lost Timo Werner in the summer, one would assume that the goals would dry up for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, but, in truth, they haven’t. The Bundesliga side have still managed a respectable 24 goals in the league this season.
Though, it has to be said, the addition of a creative player such as Szoboszlai could see even more goals find the back of the net to crucially close the gap on Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen above them.
