REPORT: AC Milan Open Talks to Sign Brahim Diaz From Real Madrid

AC Milan Brahim Diaz

AC Milan have opened talks with Real Madrid for the signing of Brahim Diaz, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Serie A giants are looking to sign the Spanish youngster on loan, with an option to buy.

Diaz, 21, formerly of the Manchester City academy, has featured very little since joining Real Madrid, making just one start throughout the 2019/20 season.

Brahim Diaz Attracts Interest From AC Milan

Yet to Match His Potential

Diaz left Manchester City in January 2019, with his contract approaching its expiration. Real Madrid signed him for a reported £15.5 million (plus add-ons).

He was no ‘Galactico’ signing, however, he has huge potential.

The Malaga-born forward has yet to show it at the Bernabeu though, making just 21 appearances so far, just six more than he made for Manchester City.

Whether it will work out for him remains to be seen. But a move to AC Milan will provide him with an opportunity to get more minutes on the pitch, whilst helping a great football club return to the heights it is known for.

Diaz is a Spain Under-21 international and was capped at Under-17 and Under-19 level too.

Interest Within Spain

It’s interesting to see where Diaz will end up as there is also interest from Spanish clubs. The likes of Getafe, Real Betis, and Granada, who would reportedly want him on loan, without an option to buy, which may better suit Real Madrid, if they haven’t given up on the 21-year-old just yet.

AC Milan Are Keeping Busy

AC Milan are currently priorisiting the contract extension of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as Gianluca Di Marzio reported earlier.

They are also close to securing the permanent signing of Croatian forward Ante Rebic, who had initially arrived at the San Siro on a two-year loan.

This appears to be a very busy time for Stefano Pioli and the club, but one thing is clear, they are out to strengthen ahead of the new season.
