The Deal

Grimsby announced via their website they had signed the winger. Grandin arrives for an undisclosed fee on a deal until the end of the season. The transfer is subject to international clearance.

The experienced winger returns to England to once again link up Ian Holloway, who took him to Blackpool and Crystal Palace. Grandin is another creative player for Ian Holloway, and he will be delighted.

He knows what he is getting from Grandin and certainly, he could be a key player for the Mariners between now and the end of the season. Holloway has transformed Grimsby since taking over and Grandin completes his January transfer business.

He is ineligible for Grimsby’s game against Forest Green Rovers this weekend.

What Was Said

Speaking to the Grimsby website about his move, Grandin said: “It feels good to be back in England.

“I’m looking forward to starting training with the gaffer and my teammates. It was a big reason [Ian Holloway’s influence on his move]. I have worked with him before and he is a top manager. I have learned a lot with him and it’s great to work and play for him again. I have also come back because I love English football and the passion of the fans here is something special!

“I would say that I am a number 10 or a number 8”, said Grandin. “I think that I can bring creativity to the team, create chances and provide good passes and assists to my teammates and I also think I will bring experience and score some goals too.”
