Experienced Winger

Despite only being 24-years old, Walker already has a wealth of experience under his belt.

Beginning his career at Bolton Wanderers, Walker made 11 appearances during his first season at the University of Bolton Stadium.

However, he then went out on loan to Bury – then of League One – making 11 appearances for the now extinct Shakers.

On his return to Bolton at the end of the 2016-17 season the club released him.

The 24-year-old then had two short spells with non-league clubs Stockport County and FC United of Manchester; however, in January 2018 he then signed for the Ammies.

Last season saw success for Tom Walker and Salford City. He made 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and helping them reach the Football League for the first time in their history.

However, he was not in their plans for life in League Two. Thus he was loaned again, making a return to Stockport and scoring six times in 15 appearances.

What Was Said

Speaking about his arrival, Fylde manager Jim Bentley said: “He’s quite adaptable, he can play out wide, he can play in the number 10, he can play in a three-man midfield.

“He’s one of them that can play anywhere and that’s another real positive for us that he’s not just a one trick pony.”

Meanwhile, Walker commented on the Coasters ambition, saying: “It’s a club going forward, you can see the ambition to be in the Football League – I’ve done it with Salford, so hopefully I can do it here as well.

“I’m attacking minded, comfortable on both wings – I like to get on the ball and make things happen.”
