Oxford United have added to today’s earlier signing with the addition of Liam Kelly on loan until the end of the season.

Double Transfer Swoop for Oxford

Two Talented Midfielders Join The U’s

This afternoon, Oxford United announced the signing of 21-year-old Nathan Holland from West Ham United, before confirming the arrival of 24-year-old Liam Kelly from Feyenoord just an hour later.

Holland is highly thought of at the London Stadium but isn’t guaranteed game time for the Premier League side, so the loan move suits both parties.

That said, he has lit up the Premier League 2 this season, leading the assist charts with seven and scoring twelve goals from just thirteen games.

The youngster has also provided two assists from two games for West Ham in Football League Trophy matches.

The winger, who prefers the left but can play on the right, will add competition to an already exiting Oxford midfield as the U’s look to secure promotion to the Championship.

The other signing today is former Reading midfielder, Liam Kelly.

The 24-year-old made over 80 appearances in the Championship for the Royals, and was part of the side that reached the play-off final in 2017 under Jaap Stam.

It was when Stam moved to Rotterdam that Kelly followed, but following his departure in October, his game time was limited.

With injuries to a number of key midfielders, Kelly’s arrival will be a major boost for the squad and will add further depth to Karl Robinson’s side.

Going Foward

Oxford United are the third-highest scorers in all of England, behind just Manchester City and Liverpool.

The arrival of the two promising midfielders, in addition to the numbers they already have in key areas, will be a significant boost as the club look to continue their prolific form in front of goal, and chase for promotion from League One.
