Leeds United Linked With Young Chievo Verona Goalkeeper

Italian Shot-Stopper

The link comes following reports from Italian outlet L’Arena.

The European source claims that 18-year-old Caprile will make his way to Elland Road this transfer window.

They claim that the 6ft 3in goalkeeper is already “taking the road to Leeds” with boss Marcelo Bielsa having “already made him a place in the Under23.”

Teenage shot-stopper Caprile has a youth contract with the Serie B side, regularly featuring for their youth side; however, the young ‘keeper reportedly already has “a foot and a half on the plane to Leeds.”

Caprile has made 13 appearances for Chievo’s Primavera side this term, conceding 26 goals and keeping two clean sheets.

The once capped Italian under-18 ‘keeper has featured six times on the bench for Chievo this season.

Last season he featured heavily for the youth side again; he conceded 39 goals, and kept four clean sheets, while filling the bench 13 times in Chievo’s doomed Serie A campaign.

The report claims Caprile will be gifted with a long-term contract by Leeds United.

Caprile could follow in the footsteps of promising goalkeeper Ilan Meslier.

The young ‘keeper was given his Leeds debut on Monday as the Whites were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal in the FA Cup.

Few had heard of Meslier prior to his move to Yorkshire but, similarly to the 19-year-old, Caprile could move to England in order to boost his career development.

A report by HITC, meanwhile, suggests that Leeds United will beat Premier League side Norwich City.

They claim the Canaries have been tracking the 18-year-old for some time; however, a move to Elland Road seems the more likely option.
