Transfer Rumours: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Julian Weigl and More

Aubameyang Set For Italy?

Arsenal’s star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a January target for Inter Milan. Ollie Salt of the Daily Star reports that the 30-year-old has a huge fan in Inter manager Antonio Conte. The Gabon international signed for Arsenal in 2018 and has scored 51 goals in 82 games. The Gunners are currently without a permanent manager and Inter are monitoring the striker’s situation.

Aubameyang’s current contract runs out in the summer of 2021. He will, therefore, be free to negotiate a free move in January 2021. Should a new deal not be reached, Arsenal could decide to cash in. Should the former Borussia Dortmund forward depart, he would leave a huge hole in the Gunners attack. One which they could struggle to fill.

Barcelona Want Julian Weigl

Barcelona are set to strengthen their midfield and have a German in their sights. The Catalan side are reportedly weighing up a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Weigl. Toby Miles of the Mail reports that the £21 million rated midfielder could be the player to add some much-needed competition to the Barcelona midfield.

24-year-old Weigl was a target for the La Liga Champions in 2016 and it appears that they could attempt to sign him once again. Weigl broke into the Dortmund side several years ago and although he has been seen as a key player, his development has not progressed as much as had been hoped. A new challenge could, therefore, be welcomed, with Barcelona a possible destination.

Juventus Set to Sell Defender. But Which One?

Calciomercato.com report that Juventus are set to allow either Merih Demiral or Daniele Rugani to leave the club. Turkish defender Demiral has been linked to Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City. Rugani is believed to be a target for Arsenal, West Ham and Wolves.

Demiral has had a frustrating time at Juventus since signing in the summer. The 21-year-old signed for £15.3 million from Sassuolo; however, he has played just one game. A quick exit could, therefore, be on the cards.

25-year-old Rugani has fared only slightly better than Demiral this season. The Italy international has played just twice this season. Rugani was linked with a move away from Turin during the summer; however, January could be the time for a fresh start.

EPL Big Boys Chase Lyon Youngster

90 min are reporting that Premier League leaders Liverpool have joined Manchester City in the chase for wonderkid Mathis Rayan Cherk. The France youth international only turned 16 in August; however, he has already played in Ligue 1 and the Champions League for his club Lyon. Liverpool are keen to add exciting young talent to their squad and Cherk fits the bill.

Lyon are resigned to losing their young star at some point and if the deal is right for them, they could agree to a deal as early as January. Cherk has been compared to former Lyon players Hatem Ben Arfa and Karim Benzema.

The 16-year-old can play in any of the forward positions, a versatility which makes him more of an attractive signing. Liverpool will have competition for his signature. Along with Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Juventus are amongst others are rumoured to be interested.
