Championship season

Nottingham Forest get their 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship season underway this Saturday at home to West Bromwich Albion. Both sides will be desperate for a winning start to the season.

Supporters of West Brom and Forest will be in eager anticipation of the new season. They will both be waiting to see how their new bosses will implement their style upon their respective squads.

Both Sabri Lamouchi and Slaven Bilic will be hopeful of a winning start to their campaigns; however, the supporters of Nottingham Forest will be in even greater anticipation of the season’s start.

Forest face a difficult trip to Leeds United following the visit of Bilic’s side. Although, facing West Brom and Leeds could prove beneficial for Forest in the long-run.

The quality of both was on shown as they were both beaten in the play-offs last term; therefore, meeting the promotion contenders this early in the season could give Forest the slight advantage as the pressure will be on their opponents to rebuild a promotion push.

West Brom would by no means have fancied facing Forest at an almost-certain-to-be packed out City Ground in the first game; meanwhile, Leeds would most likely not have been impressed by seeing a side who tend to perform well in west Yorkshire arrive for the Elland Road curtain-raiser.

Promotion the Target for Lamouchi

New Forest boss Lamouchi hinted that the target set by the Reds hierarchy is to mount a promotion challenge.

Speaking to Sky Sports (via the Nottingham Post), Lamouchi said: “I just want to try to start in a good way.

“I’m just focused on August and nothing else.

“I know the target from the club, I know the dream for the fans and I know the history of the club.

“I’m so proud to work for this club and I just want to do my job.”
