AC Milan transfer rumours

Another disappointing season has transfer rumours swirling around AC Milan. Both big names and rising stars are being linked to the Italian giants, although Milan yet to make their transfer budget clear.

AC Milan Transfer Rumours

Defence Rumours

Kostas Manolas

In relatively shocking news, Milan have found themselves in play for one of Serie A‘s top centre-backs, according to Fabrizio Romano and Calciomercato.

Manolas has a release clause of €36 million. AS Roma, according to Romano, is opposed to taking anything less. Mino Raiola, Manolas’ agent, has been directly involved through Paolo Maldini. Given his price tag, triggering the release clause would result in one of Milan’s most expensive transfers in club history.

Juventus and Napoli are also in the running, so Milan must act quickly if they want to pair Manolas up with captain Alessio Romagnoli.

Mario Rui

Milan have not been satisfied with Diego Laxalt and, as a result, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, they are monitoring Mario Rui.

The Portuguese left-back has been playing in Italy since 2011. Giampaolo is likely the source of interest for Rui, as he coached in at Empoli in 2015. Rui has been a consistent player at Napoli over the last two seasons.

Napoli are eager to receive €13 million for the player, which may come as too expensive for Ricardo Rodriguez’s back-up.

Midfield Rumours

Lucas Torreira

After a strong showing in his debut Premier League season, it should come as no surprise that Torreira is once again a hot commodity.

According to TuttomercatowebTorreira is open to a move back to Italy to reunite with his former manager, Marco Giampaolo, at Milan.

Torreira fueled his own transfer rumours last week when talking about England.

“I don’t know if there are many things that I enjoy,” Torreira said. “I think it was better in Italy. England is a totally different world, a very large country.”

The Uruguayan’s said he learned about Milan’s supposed interest through the press. As of right now, there have been no negotiations between Arsenal and Milan.

Stefano Sensi

Staying in the midfield, Sassuolo’s Sensi has been another target for Milan. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, both Milan and Inter are in the hunt for the young Italian.

Sensi’s agent has only engaged in talks with the Rossoneri. The barrier, however, has been disagreements on payments. Milan have offered a two-year loan with an obligation to buy for €15 million. Sassuolo have rejected, as they have placed more value on their midfield star.

Both Milan and Inter have strong relationships with Sassuolo, so this might be a race to look out for.

Jordan Veretout

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan are also interested in Fiorentina’s midfield maestro.

Fiorentina endured a rough season which saw them barely survive relegation, but Veretout remained a bright spot. The Frenchman remains one of Italy’s finest chance creators, something Milan has been sorely lacking. These rumours have been gaining traction over the last few days.

Roma and Napoli are also in the running for the midfielder. Milan have reportedly made an offer of 20 million Euros plus bonuses, but la Viola are holding out for their asking price of €25 million.
