Southampton Chase Brentford Duo

Southampton are believed to be monitoring Brentford duo Ollie Watkins and Chris Mepham. New Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is keen to add new players to his squad and he and the club believe Watkins and Mepham are the perfect fit for the Saints.

Southampton have improved since Hasenhuttl replaced Mark Hughes. However, he is keen to keep the club progressing and is eager to add to his squad. Although no bid has been submitted, a move could be possible before the transfer window closes.

Brentford value the pair at £20 million each. Watkins has been in fine form this season, his goals and performances attracting interest from several clubs. 21-year-old Wales international is the ball playing centre-half Southampton are looking for and should only get better.

The pair won’t come cheap and Saints could have other clubs to contend with too.

Wolves Target Stoke’s Bauer

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly in the market to sign a right-back. His number one target being Stoke City’s Moritz Bauer, who he would like to take on loan. Bauer fell out of favour with former manager Gary Rowett and rarely played; however, after he was replaced by Nathan Jones, the Austrian was brought back into the squad.

It remains to be seen if Bauer wants to leave, but new manager Jones has admitted that he is looking forward to working with the player. He also issued a hands-off warning to Wolves and any other club interested.

City Willing to let Brownhill Leave

Several Premier League clubs including Leicester City, Bournemouth and Brighton are interested in Bristol City midfielder Josh Brownhill. The 23-year-old has been in fine form this season and is seen as one of the most underrated players in the league.

It is understood that City would be prepared to let Brownhill leave. However, any club interested would have to meet the valuation. At present, it is not known how much City value the midfielder at. However, with the way the transfer market is and other Championship players being priced at around £20 million, City could ask for an eight-figure sum.
