The Good Brothers Return to NJPW for the First Time in 5 Years

Tag Team Turbulence

Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson (The GOod Brothers) have not been seen in a New Japan Pro Wrestling ring since 2016, but their return has been announced. On NJPW Strong they were announced as part of an eight-team tag tournament called Tag Team Turbulence.

The Teams

TJP and Clark Connors are a team who have a bit of history teaming together, specifically they competed together in the 2019 Super Junior Tag League.

Chris Dickinson and Brody King are representing Ring Of Honor’s VLNCE UNLTD, and have formed a partnership on Strong after Dickinson was booted from Team Filthy.

The DKC and Kevin Knight will be representing the LA Dojo.

Team Filthy’s Danny Limelight and JR Kratos with Kratos who is a current NWA World Tag Team Champion, and Danny who is a mainstay on NJPW Strong and AEW Dark.

Yuji Nagata and Ren Narita make up the teacher and student pairing. Ren originally trained at the regular NJPW Dojo.  Nagata usually helps when it comes to training, and teaches Young Lions when he can in the ring on undercard matches.

Wheeler Yuta and Fred Yehi recently made an impactful debut as a team on NJPW Strong. However, they’ve also worked together on ROH TV this year.

West Coast Wrecking Crew of Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs recently debuted on AEW Dark and NJPW after a few years apart while Isaacs was with the NWA.

The Good Brothers History In NJPW

As a team, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson are former three-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and winners of the 2013 World Tag League. Karl Anderson is more synonymous with NJPW as a former four-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, and three-time winner of World Tag League including one win when it was the G1 Tag League. He even made the finals of the 2012 G1 Climax before falling to Kazuchika Okada. He is a founding member of Bullet Club that Gallows later joined.

Their presence in the tournament is shocking as both men are signed to IMPACT Wrestling, and are making regular appearances for AEW. You have to think they’re the favorites heading into this tournament, but the field is stacked.
