AEW Dynamite Ratings: In-Depth Match Analysis

Jake Hager vs. Wardlow in an MMA Rules Cage Fight

A three-round battle between the hoss of The Pinnacle and the hoss of The Inner Circle. It’s been months of Wardlow and Jake Hager disliking each other, even when they were in the same group. In a battle of I can do it better than you can, Wardlow got the original win in the normal singles match that they had a number of months ago. But this time, Hager wanted it inside an MMA Rules Cage Fight. Wardlow agreed and the match was set. The first round saw Wardlow catch Hager with a huge right hand, giving him the first round by a clear margin as he attempted to go for the knockout. Hager managed to survive and that would be all it took. Once the second round came around, Hager got back onto the top of his game and dominated for the majority.

Wardlow would hit a Powerbomb and Hurricanrana on Hager, but it was Hager who would lock in the Triangle Choke on Wardlow to get the win. Seeing that this wasn’t a normal match between the two, they put on a physical show that both wrestling and MMA fans could enjoy. Now tied one apiece, it’s likely they will have one final match down the line.
