Recently we took a look at the early betting odds for the Women’s Royal Rumble. Now it’s the men’s turn as we once again use SkyBet’s odds to take a look at the top 5 current favourites to win the men’s royal rumble.
Big E
With his recent shift to being a singles wrestler many fans (and our own Scott) feel that now is the time for Big E to ascend to the top of WWE and win a championship. For years people have considered Big E a future world champion and it seems like WWE finally agrees. Giving him a royal rumble win would immediately launch him to stardom as it has for many new stars in the past.
Roman Reigns
Despite being the current Universal Champion Roman Reigns is the second-placed favourite to win the royal rumble. It is possible we see him lose the championship before the Rumble, but a more interesting path may lie in Reigns entering as champion and winning anyway. That may just be some fantasy booking though. It’s likely Reigns bets were made before his current run which is why he is still so high.
Keith Lee
Keith Lee made history in NXT earlier this year becoming the first man to hold both the North American and NXT Championships at the same time. Lee also made a big impression last year at Survivor Series when he looked like a big star opposite Reigns and Seth Rollins. He has since been called up to the main roster and immediately been a main event player on RAW, similar to Big E he is high because many believe that a Rumble win could launch him to superstardom and possibly a Mania clash with Reigns.
Edge
Everyone loves a good surprise and last year Edge pulled off the biggest surprise in years when he returned to the ring at the Royal Rumble. Edge is currently injured again, this time dealing with a triceps injury, but the betters seem to think we will see Edge once again make a surprise return at the men’s royal rumble and win the whole thing. Rumour has it that WWE wants Edge vs Orton to happen at WrestleMania again, this time for the title, and winning the royal rumble would be the best way of achieving that goal.
AJ Styles
AJ Styles rounds out our top 5 and well he’s an interesting one. Styles hasn’t really been in the main event scene in some time and doesn’t really feature on PPVs anymore. A win for Styles would come out of nowhere but it would add another accomplishment to his already impressive WWE career.
Some Odd Inclusions
