We are only 8 days away from WrestleMania 42. The WWE Universe thought that it would be a much easier road, considering the matchups are now set for Night 1 and Night 2 of the “Granddaddy of them all.” But as the promotion would tell us over and over again, “anything can happen in WWE,” and that’s exactly what happened on last week’s SmackDown. Fans were shocked at the return of a beloved figure, now preaching something that can send a huge ripple through the landscape of WWE. We also heard a fiery response from the QB1 of WWE. Even if we’re barely a week away from the “Showcase of the Immortals,” there’s a lot that is still to unfold come this Friday night. We’re just as excited as you all are, so let’s do things. WWE SmackDown Results (4/10/26):
In the parking lot, Cody Rhodes confronts SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, looking for Pat McAfee, who was still on the way. Aldis informed that he has strict orders to prevent Cody from getting physical with McAfee.
Jelly Roll was also looking for both Randy Orton and Pat, and Nick says a lot is on the line, and it would be best if he didn’t get involved. Jelly Roll would hype up Rhodes, saying it’s about him and Randy Orton and WrestleMania 42 and nothing else, and he should not get distracted.
Rhea Ripley Rolls Up to Friday Nights
The “Eradicator” herself marches into SmackDown, looking ticked off as all heck. Rhea Ripley stated Jade Cargill and her crew have made it personal, making it a bigger deal than the championship and WrestleMania 42 after they attacked IYO SKY.
The “Genius of the Sky” would come out, saying she knows she’s worried about her, but she shouldn’t be, because she wants Jade Cargill tonight. Nick Aldis would confirm it for tonight and took it one step further, granting SKY the main event of SmackDown opposite Jade Cargill.
Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley
To gain momentum for their team for WrestleMania 42 ahead of their WWE Women’s Tag Team 4-Way, Alexa Bliss and Bayley go at it one-on-one. Bliss and Bayley had a very physical match-up, looking to go into WrestleMania 42 with positive momentum on their sides.
It was even throughout, but Bayley would go off like a house on fire, which a picture-perfect Elbow Drop and a near-fall punctuated. Bayley would take her eye off the ball and provoke Charlotte Flair on the outside by chopping Bliss and “Woo-ing!” in front of her.
Flair was livid, and while Bayley was taunting her seated on the edge of the ring, Bliss would see the opportunity and roll her up from the second rope gap and pick up the win.
Backstage:
- Matt Cardona would check in on a banged-up Carmelo Hayes before Trick Williams and Lil Yachty would get on the case of Melo. Hayes said I hope Trick wins at ‘Mania 42 so he can whoop him and take his title back. Lil Yachty would provoke Cardona, leading to a match between Trick and Matt later in the night.
- We saw a vignette of Drew McIntyre in a prison cell trying to play mind games with Jacob Fatu. Backstage, Fatu spoke to Cathy Kelley before Solo Sikoa, and MFT would intervene, with Solo saying that he’s an embarrassment to their family and he might get what he deserves tonight, as Tama Tonga steps up and the two will throw down tonight.
