The mystery lockbox revealed its secret. As suspected, EC3 will make his TNA Wrestling comeback tomorrow night at TNA Rebellion 2026. Why is he coming back? Who is he targeting? Many questions will be answered at the PLE. No news on a possible contract signing or if TNA Rebellion is a one-time appearance, as Carter owns Exodus Pro Wrestling. All we know is: “One man’s madness has a name: trouble.”
EC3 joined TNA in 2013, where he was introduced as the nephew of then-owner Dixie Carter. He would become a main-event player in the company. He became a two-time TNA World Champion. In 2018, he returned to WWE. Ethan Carter III spent a year in NXT and was drafted to Raw in 2019. His unspectacular run ended with his release during the early stage of the pandemic.
Since leaving WWE, he has tried to launch his own group called ‘Control Your Narrative’ and has worked for the NWA. He won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and the NWA National Championship each once. On January 1, 2026, EC3 announced that he would be leaving NWA, ending his nearly four-year tenure with the promotion.
Before and after the tweet below, EC3 posted other “Threezus” quotes accompanied by videos here, here, and here. “In the beginning, there was the Top 1%. There was only ever the Top 1%.” In the videos, EC3 asks which man is the most dangerous: the one with nothing to lose or the one with everything he needs.
Threezus 2:37 –
And the Ark was opened before the congregation.
And The Top 1% was inside. And it had not changed.
Had not diminished.
Had not apologized for its existence. And the people saw.
And Rebellion was no longer just a name. It was a warning. https://t.co/bkJ3tjw6d6— EC3 // The Top 1% // (@therealec3) April 10, 2026
Control Your Narrative
After his WWE departure in 2020, he reinvented his EC3 gimmick as a much darker and enigmatic crusader. Known as “The Essential Character”, Carter began to release a series of videos in which he expressed his desire to control the narrative. This led to a series of cinematic matches.
The first match took place at Impact Wrestling’s Bound for Glory 2020 against Moose. A match Carter lost. In May 2022, he hosted his own PPV, Free the Narrative, where he defeated Matt Cardona. In October, EC3 hosted his second show, “Free the Narrative II,” where he faced Adam Scherr (fka Braun Strowman) in the main event, being defeated.
EC3 and Scherr began to work together. On February 17, 2022, they announced Control Your Narrative (CYN). Taking inspiration from Fight Club, the promotion featured talent booking their own storylines, like in the early stages of Fight Club’s “Project: Mayhem.”
