It’s about to get rowdy this Friday night in the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, for this week’s premier WWE Friday Night Show. Last week’s edition was unimaginably chaotic, which is to be expected as we draw closer to WWE WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, Nevada. On the latest edition of SmackDown, the WWE Universe is like getting a Premium Live Event-quality show, with two huge title matches, a tag team showdown for the ages, as well as a GRAMMY-award winner rolling up to NC. On top of that, we finally hear from the “Apex Predator” himself after his violent assault on the “American Nightmare.” Without further ado, here are the LIVE WWE SmackDown results for March 20, 2026.
Let’s run it down.

WWE SmackDown Results (3/20/26):
SmackDown began chaotic once again as we see Jelly Roll cruise into the arena, and we see WWE officials run towards the other way, as we see Drew McIntyre assaulting and bloodying up Jacob Fatu in the parking lot.
McIntyre would go on the mic and enter the arena, saying he got screwed and everybody thought he would just shut up and wrestle when all he wanted and deserved was wrestling in the main event of WrestleMania 42.
SmackDown GM Nick Aldis would talk to McIntyre and say that if he doesn’t stop, the only way he’s wrestling towards is the unemployment line. Drew would go for a low blow and even mention Aldis’ child, Donovan, saying his kid is ashamed of him for being a corporate stooge, and he’s going to keep causing destruction all night.
An opened up Jacob Fatu would bullrush McIntyre as the fight continued, resulting in Fatu putting McIntyre through the announcer’s table via a Samoan Splash.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
To kick off the action, Damian Priest and R-Truth get a golden opportunity as they challenge for MFT’s WWE Tag Team Championships, which are going to be defended by Tama Tonga and JC Mateo under the Freebird Rule.
Truth and Priest dominated early, but the numbers game that the MFT executed perfectly eventually got to them. Fortunately, Priest and Truth had someone looking over them, and before the WWE Universe knew it, we had #AndNEW WWE Tag Team Champions to begin the night.
Backstage:
- We see The Bella Twins get interviewed before getting interrupted by Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, saying they jumped the line to get a title shot. The Bellas rebutted that they need to sit back and see how “real legends” do it.
- Cathy Kelley caught up with Sami Zayn, saying he’s devastated that Randy Orton did what he did to Cody Rhodes last week. That said, he’s crushed that things are transpiring like they are, but he needs to get ready for Aleister Black tonight. Trick Williams would once again get in the face of Zayn, rubbing salt in the wounds. Trick says he’ll be watching tonight, and Zayn told him to have a good look tonight.
Fraxiom vs. Motor City Machine Guns
Two of the absolute best tag teams on SmackDown have a showdown as Fraxiom takes on a team looking to get back on track, the Motor City Machine Guns. Axiom and Nathan Frazer controlled the early part of this match before MCMG’s experience would kick in.
Of course, being former NXT Tag Team Champions, Fraxiom would not go down easily, swinging the momentum to their favor once again. Candice LeRae would be a difference-maker. As Frazer would go for an O’Connor Roll, Chris Sabin would kick out, driving Nathan to the second rope, allowing LeRae to strike him and letting Sabin roll him up for the School Boy and the win.
Alex Shelley saw what happened, but Sabin was none the wiser.
