The flagship event will be WWE’s first AAA production in Mexico, so the pressure is on to produce something spectacular. While the vibrant traditions of Lucha Libre will be front and center, WWE has moved decisively to include some of its own star attractions to make this a crossover event like no other.

AAA TripleMania XXXIII Start Time, Date, and Venue

AAA TripleMania XXXIII follows hot on the heels of June’s well-received Worlds Collide event, airing live from the Arena CDMX in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City. The event will start at 7pm local time, 9pm US Eastern time, and 6pm Pacific time on Saturday, August 16. The broadcast will be easily accessible, being shown live on WWE’s YouTube channel.
Like Worlds Collide, Corey Graves and WCW and AAA legend Konnan will be on commentary – only this time, they’ll be joined by the king of the clothesline himself, JBL. Interestingly, Konnan is being inducted into the AAA Hall of Fame by JBL’s long-time rival Rey Mysterio during the event. So JBL could be more than just a talking head this Saturday in Mexico City.

AAA Mega Championship Fatal Four-Way

An assortment of styles and backstories collide in TripleMania’s standout match. Worlds Collide provided an incredible insight into the acrobatic style of Vikingo when he defeated Chad Gable in a match of the year contender. But this fatal four-way presents an altogether different challenge for the reigning champion.
During an AAA taping last month, Vikingo was interrupted by Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano. The two WWE stars have been embroiled in a feud for a few weeks now, so it was no surprise to see that rivalry cross over into AAA territory. However, the biggest pop came when a mystery Luchador attacked all three wrestlers, clearing out the ring in the process.
Beneath the mask was Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio, much to the audience’s delight. Dirty Dom cut a promo in Spanish before leaving with Vikingo’s title.
With his current momentum, chances are Dom could emerge from TripleMania as a double champion. But with three diversely difficult opponents standing between him and AAA glory, this is a tough one to call.

Mixed Trios: The Judgment Day Seek to Expand Their Empire

It’s not just Dirty Dom making a play in Mexico City this weekend. His Judgment Day stablemates will be looking to make a statement in their AAA debut, locking up with two lovable underdogs and a rising NXT starlet. Balor, McDonaugh, and Rodriguez will take on Mr. Iguana, Niño Hamburguesa, and Lola Vice.
Mr. Iguana’s stock has grown considerably since capturing the hearts of WWE fans at Worlds Collide. Hamburguesa falls into a similar category but this will be his first opportunity to shine at a WWE event. Vice, meanwhile, continues to be a highly-regarded WWE talent. This latest AAA appearance follows impressive showings at Worlds Collide and WWE Evolution. A win here could expedite a jump to the main roster.

AAA World Tag Team Championship Street Fight

The youth and exuberance of Los Garza meet the highly popular grizzled AAA veterans in a truly tantalizing encounter. Berto and Angel have found new life with the AAA acquisition, having been underutilized on SmackDown over the last couple of years. Their recent attainment of the AAA tag titles will hopefully boost their profiles across both companies, but first, they need to overcome a dangerous pairing in Pagano and Psycho Clown.
Psycho Clown is widely regarded as AAA’s star attraction, having been central to the promotion’s success for almost 20 years. His partner, Pagano, will bring another layer of brutality to the street fight stipulation. Pagano is known for his hardcore wrestling style, and his willingness to put his body on the line in extreme rules matches has endeared him to Mexican wrestling fans over the years.

AAA Reina de Reinas Championship Triple Threat: Another chance for the dynamic Natalya to shine?

Natalya’s recent trajectory in professional wrestling has been highly experimental. In WWE, she’s transitioned into a mentoring role, working closely with Maxxine Dupri and younger talent on NXT and Evolve. But rather interestingly,
Natalya has also been dipping her toes into the independent scene.
Appearances on NWA and GCW have revealed a new dimension to Natalya, a sub-persona that Big E has coined ‘Bloodsport Nattie’. Her intense approach on GCW has seen Natalya defeat former world champions Masha Slamovich and Miyu Yamashita in 2025.
But her two opponents at TripleMania present very different problems. Current champion, 25-year-old Flammer, has risen quickly to the top of AAA. Her aggressive, no-nonsense brawling style will work well against Natalya’s newfound assertive approach.
In contrast, the chameleonic veteran Faby Apache has built a legacy on her versatile style and holds the joint record for most Reina de Reinas title reigns, with four. Having that record outright is a huge carrot for her heading into this match.

Other AAA TripleMania Matches

Defending champion El Mesías will put his AAA Latin American Championship on the line against El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr in what is expected to be an exciting encounter. El Mesías has rolled back the years during an impressive nine-month reign. In contrast, Wagner Jr will be looking to secure his first championship in AAA.
The Copa Bardahl adopts a Royal Rumble-style structure, except participants are eliminated by pinfall or submission. With no participants currently revealed, it’ll be interesting to see who features in the match.
Fans can expect to see top AAA stars not currently scheduled to appear, with the likes of Laredo Kid and Octagón Jr predicted to participate. Chances are, there could be a few WWE names appearing in the match too, bringing an air of unpredictability to the multi-man scramble.
