Rusev on Raw after Mania

The Curious Case of WWE Superstar Rusev

Rusev is now a part of WWE. He is currently in a storyline with Sheamus, and the two have been at odds since The Bulgarian Brute’s return. The former AEW superstar had matches with The Alpha Academy members Otis and Akira Tozawa and has since been feuding with The Celtic Warrior.

Why Rusev Deserves Better Opportunities?

Rusev left AEW in hopes of a better career. Tony Khan’s Miro has immense potential, but over the past three months, he has not received the exposure he needs. It’s not as if the former United States Champion lacks anything.

He has a commanding presence, an excellent physique, and can dominate anyone in the ring. These qualities are all that matter for someone to shine and perform.

If his accent or promo skills are a concern, a talented former wrestler or manager could serve as his “Oracle.” Rusev has the potential to be a reason why many people might leave the company “Where the Best Wrestle.”

However, this can only happen if he gets storylines that allow him to showcase his talent. He has the age and the fanbase, but it depends on the WWE creative team finding a way to make him shine.

The Karrion Kross Situation Is a Big Reason

Karrion Kross and his wife Scarlett Bordeaux’s contracts expired, putting the company in hot water. While Kross mentioned a deal negotiation on the Ariel Helwani show, no reports confirm that an agreement was finalized. The company could capitalize on this situation to hype Rusev. He could incorporate this storyline into his promos to generate organic heat.

Sheamus is not Rusev’s final opponent, and no specific date has been set for the latter’s last match. The former League of Nations member could tease Kross in his promos, which would not only elevate the heel but also keep the former NXT Champion relevant in the WWE universe.

Sheamus could also include the former MLW performer in his segments to keep him in the spotlight. Rusev needs a way to stay relevant, and Kross could be a key factor in making that happen.

The Ultimate Rise and Curious Case of Rusev

It’s highly unlikely that WWE would let Karrion Kross fade away. They could make Kross a bigger star by having him return during a gruesome match between Sheamus and Rusev.

This approach would place Rusev in a compelling storyline while allowing Karrion to captivate the fans. The WWE universe celebrated Rusev’s return, but it has since faded into obscurity due to a lackluster story.

His downfall is a curious case because there was a time when fans adored him and eagerly awaited his return to the company. He did return on “Rusev Day,” but it hasn’t yielded positive results. It’s possible that either the storyline failed to deliver or Rusev himself struggled to make it resonate with the audience.

The former League of Nations member needs to address this situation with Triple H because everyone wants Rusev to shine. He has the ability to challenge for World Titles but is currently underutilized. It remains to be seen if that changes on “Rusev Day.”
