Check back for our WWE Raw results from WWE Raw tonight.
Where is WWE Raw Tonight? WWE Raw emanates live from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY. This is WWE’s first show since the explosive Elimination Chamber which saw Bianca Belair earn her ticket to WrestleMania, Randy Orton and Jade Cargill return for vengeance, and John Cena shock the world by selling his soul to the Rock. It’s unlikely all of those will be addressed tonight, but between all of the loose ends and three championship matches on tap, fans should expect one heck of a follow-up to that great PLE.
What Time is WWE Raw Tonight?: Raw airs weekly at 8PM on Netflix.
How Long is WWE Raw? Raw runs approximately 2.5 hours but WWE has a deal with Netlfix regarding runtime being flexible.
WWE Raw Results from WWE Raw Tonight
CM Punk isn’t happy. Can you blame him? After a video recap of Elimination Chamber including the heel turn heard round the world and various stars shown backstage and the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile in the ring training for tonight, Punk got out of his car and opened Raw by taking down the giant Prime bottle and commentary desk, and then standing on top of it after walking through production to make his entrance. Punk said tonight was going to be fun, not for the fans but for him. He’s liable to get Raw canceled off of Netflix. Punk wasn’t sure where to start. He said this was a state of the union address and he wanted to address his enemies, which was everyone. He asked the crowd who he should start with. Pat McAfee said it should be the Rock. Punk looked right into the camera and addressed, “Dwayne.”
You can read the full transcript of Punk’s latest pioebomb-lite here, but the cliffnotes are as such. Punk said the Rock just decides to walk into WWE whenever he wants while Punk walked through hell to earn his opportunities. The Rock tries to hide behind thinking he’s a bigger star than anyone else. Punk said he’d love to tell it all to Rock’s face but Rock isn’t here because he doesn’t care about this business. Punk says he’s never been so delusional or desperate to wear a fake title and proclaim himself the people’s champion. He’s never been so desperate to sell his soul…
Punk turned his attention to John Cena. After all these years, Punk said we can’t see Cena but now we see through him. Punk said Cena stole something from him. After 20 years of Hustle, Loyalty, Respect, Punk gave Cena the benefit of the doubt when he didn’t qualify. He felt all Cena did in the past, he earned the right to do that. But fool me once…Punk says 20+ years of hustle, loyalty, respect and now everyone sees what he’s always known, that Cena has been selling “bullshit.” Punk says Cena was Mr. Don’t Quit, Mr. Never Give Up and yet he did just that. Gave up on himself, the fans, all the kids. Punk said he’s going to see him down the road and get his hands on both him and Rock and when he does, “you’re gonna make a wish that I never did.”
Stone cold killer. Punk then turned his attention to “little brother Seth Rollins,” and said, “Becky Lynch, you better come get your man because if I do before you do, I’m gonna put him in a wheelchair.” Punk didn’t get a chance to say anything else as Rollins’ music hit and Punk left the desk and made a beeline to the entrance ramp confronting Rollins immediately as he came out.
Yesterday was Dr. Seuss’ birthday so in honor of the man, here’s a poem to the tune of Green Eggs and Ham to describe how Punk and Rollins’ interaction went down.
Punk will fight Rollins here or there, Punk will fight Rollins anywhere. And he did. The two brawled up and down the entrance ramp as security tried to separate them multiple times. They brawled in the ring, again as security failed to keep them apart. Adam Pearce sent out reinforcements and they still couldn’t hold back an irate Punk and Rollins. They fought on top of the announce table and in the ring area. They brawled into the stands. Finally, security was able to get Rollins escorted to the back as Punk looked on, looking absolutely incensed. Folks, strap in, because this is the feud we’ve been waiting a year to see. It’s almost a shame it seems like a mutual enemy of the two is primed to get involved as well…
Backstage with Judgment Day. Dom says all that matters is they are the greatest tag team of all time. Liv says its time Raquel goes after the IC championship and she says she’ll keep an eye on the match. Finn says he’s happy for the new champs, even though Liv lost at chamber and Dom and Carlito getting embarrassed last week. Dom says Finn had a chair and still backed down but if they had a new member. Finn says not to play the blame game so maybe he needs to deal with Bron tonight. Dom wonders what is up with Jade and the chamber but Liv says she’s staying out of it.
Otis vs Gunther
Last week, Gunther embarrassed Akira Tozawa and the joke that he believes is Alpha Academy. This week he’s ready to do the same to Otis. Gunther said he knows Otis is strong as an ox and that some call him a freak of nature but to him, Otis is just a freak. To him, Otis belongs in the same category as Jey Uso, to make a clown out of himself to entertain a degenerate audience. Gunther said he doesn’t belong in his sacred ring and they only cheer Otis because they pity him. He asks if Otis has looked himself in the mirror because he did and what he saw was him wearing the world title as a belt whereas Otis can’t find a belt that fits. The crowd began to rally behind Otis as Gunther continued saying the sad thing is Otis could be great if he had any self-respect. But he need not worry as Gunther was going to teach him about self respect right now. Gunther said just like Jey Uso at Wrestle—bam, huge cheap shot by Gunther and this one is underway.
Gunther laid the boots to Otis but Otis fights back and the two lock up. Gunther with a huge boot to get Otis out of the ring. As Otis recovers, Gunther smacks his head mockingly. Gunther grabs Otis by the beard but Otis uses his power to drag Gunther out of the ring and hit a fallaway slam onto the floor. Momentum momentarily shifts in Otis; favor as the two are back in the ring. Gunther with the advantage after the break as he chastises Otis on the mat. Crowd continues to get behind Otis as he fights back. Otis takes a huge boot to the face and Gunther with the near fall. Gunther looks for the chin lock but Otis counters into a suplex. Both men on the mat. Otis and Gunther to their feet as Otis is taking chop after chop but not going down. Otis rips his shirt off and the two begin having a chop-off. Otis with a head butt and splash in the corner to Gunther. Otis with more splashes and elbow to take Gunther down. Otis with the caterpillar and cover but no, Gunther kicks out. Otis to the second rope, but Gunther moves out the way and hits a huge drop kick. Otis and Gunther with the physicality in the middle of the ring. Gunther with a boot to take Otis down. He drags him back to his feet and takes him out with a clothesline but Otis kicks out. Gunther with a huge powerbomb and that’s all she wrote.
Gunther with a sleeper hold on Otis after the match. Tozawa comes in for the save but Gunther takes him out with a powerbomb onto Otis. Yeet chants from the crowd and out he comes for a second week in a row. Gunther more prepared this time and takes it to Gunther, but Uso quickly gets the edge and takes out Gunther with a spear. Gunther rolls out of the ring as Uso holds up the title and Buffalo yeets. But it doesn’t last long as A Town Down Under comes out to attack Uso. The double team works for a bit but Uso quickly takes down both men. Gunther back in the ring though with a sleeper on Uso while his back was turned. Gunther puts Uso to sleep, stands over Uso, and takes his title.
Uso has had Gunther’s number for weeks and the fact that it took a distraction for Gunther to finally get his pound of flesh tonight is good booking as it helps Uso look strong and a credible contender for Gunther. There’s still many weeks to go and Gunther has promised to make Uso’ life a living hell on the Road to WrestleMania 41.
Cathy Kelley is backstage with AJ Styles. Styles says he didn’t see John Cena selling out coming. He was interrupted by Karrion Kross who said he’s a legend like Cena and he knows what it’s like not to get respect. Styles says he’s not Cena but maybe the WWE fans need a reminder who he is. Styles says next week at MSG, he’s calling out Logan Paul. Styles turned back to Kross and says he’s trying to be the devil on his shoulder. Styles walks away as Kross smirks that was too easy.
Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Lyra Valkyria vs Ivy Nile
Valkyria with a huge dropkick to start the match as she works Nile into the corner with an arm drag into a cover. Kick out at one. Nile with a clothesline to take out the champ. With Valkyria on the mat, Nile lays into her. She drags Valkyria back to her feet and into the corner but Valkyria with her quickness, gets away before Nile can attack. Suplex from Valkyria but kick out by Nile. Valkyria gets Nile out of the ring briefly but then back in and to the top rope. Nile stops her though and grabs her leg to pull her off the rope. Valkyria with a few quick pinfall attempts but Nile kicks out as Valkyria is off balance due to the worked leg. Valkyria back to the top for a crossbody but Nile rolls through and lifst Valkyria up. Nile can’t finish though as Valkyria gets her up but no, her knee gives up as she goes for the cover. Valkyria with a series of clotheslines and kicks. Step up enziguiri. Nile counters the DDT with a vertical suplex and Valkyria just kicks out. Nile with a boot to Valkyria as the two fight in the middle of the ring. Neckbreaker from the champ. Valkyria with Nile on her shoulders but again, the knee gave out as Nile continues to attack the leg. Sit out powerbomb from Nile but Valkyria manages to kick out. Into the ankle lock but Valkyria makes her way to the ropes for the break. The damage is done though as Valkyria screams in agony. Nile drags Valkyria back to the middle and gets her up, but no, Valkyria rolls through and gets a near fall. German suplex from Nile who goes for the big boot but Valkyria moves out of the way and hits a backbreaker. Valkyria finally hits Nightwing, bad knee and all, and that’s a wrap on this one. The champ retains. But no shade to the challenger as Nile has looked great in defeat the last few weeks. Her time will come.
Another ad for WWE Evolve, which premieres this Wednesday before a recap of Punk and Rollins from the beginning of the night. Backstage, Jackie Redmond is with Rollins, but Rollins spots Punk and attacks him as security and Pearce show up to restrain the two again. After the break, Pearce is escorting Rollins out saying this is the easiest job of his life. Rollins says if Pearce doesn’t do something, he will. Punk screwed himself at the rumble and Rollins made sure he couldn’t win the chamber. Rollins said he’ll do to Punk what he did to Roman Reigns and make sure he doesn’t make WrestleMania at all. Pearce says Rollins wants to finish it, fine. Next week at Madison Square Garden, its Rollins vs Punk inside a steel cage. Pearce tells security to make sure Rollins leaves. That’s gonna be a huge brawl. But its MSG, and would the Tribal Chief really not show up at that show? Seems like at some point in that cage or out of it, Reigns will return for his own pound of flesh.
Ludwig Kaiser is in the ring after a video shows Kaiser, Pete Dunne, and Penta’s recent rivalry. Kaiser said he demands all of the fans’ gratitude, especially after last week. Kaiser says last week he took back what was his, the attention. Attention Penta has had and attention Kaiser has been deserving for a long time. He encourages the boos but says if the fans are honest, they know that Kaiser is a future world champion whether they like it or not. Kaiser says if Penta really thinks they have unfinished business, he might want to reconsider because what Cena did to Rhodes is nothing compared to what he’s prepared to do to him. Kaiser says after he’s done with Penta, he will know what fear feels like. The lights go out as Penta makes his way down the ramp and charges Kaiser in the ring. Penta with a hurricanrana and slingblade. Creative offense to take Kaiser out of the ring. It’s all Penta. Cero miedo to the fans and huge dive to take out Kaiser on the outside. Penta’s music hits as he gets back in the ring as Kaiser lays out on the outside looking furious.
Kelley backstage with Bianca Belair. Belair says out of respect for Cargill and Naomi, she hasn’t talked to both of them yet and it’s bittersweet for her. She feels guilty. She’s sad at what happened but equally proud of what she accomplished. She’s gonna have all eyes on the match tonight to see who her opponent will be at WrestleMania. No matter who it is though, they are going to remember you can’t spell WrestleMania without EST.
The Creed Brothers and War Raiders are seen making their entrances. Their match is up next. But first, another clip from Elimination Chamber showing Cena’s brutal beatdown of Rhodes played over various commentary audio from across the world.
We then see Chad Gable in Mexico with a paper asking around trying to find the name Dominik Mysterio gave him weeks ago. Gable finally finds the guy. He tells him you can’t fight what you don’t understand. First, he has to learn the art of lucha libre and of course, give the guy some money. The guy gives Gable a box saying he now wield power beyond his understanding. Gable pulls something out of the box as the screen turns to black and we’re back in the ring with American Made and a recap of the their last shot at the tag titles a few weeks ago.
