iMPACT After The Bell: Elijah and the Colons Crash the Party as Oba Femi Makes His Mark

If you carefully read my preview of TNA iMPACT!, you know now if Nygma’s crystal ball was right or wrong. It’s now time to analyze what happened and what it means for the coming weeks, especially for debuting stars Elijah (WWE’s Elias) and the Colons, and Oba Femi, fresh off his visit from NXT.

Elijah and the Colons are Here to Stay

Please don’t call them Primo and Epico anymore…

We could have expected a Ryan Nemeth appearance to shut up Hendry’s concert. It happened to be the Colons. If someone saw it coming, I’m easy to find on social media. According to the Colons, their arrival doesn’t concern popularity, but rather business, as they said before the duo was about to attack Joe Hendry.

They later said to Gia Miller that the likes of Joe Hendry and the Hardys don’t deserve to be at the top of TNA. No word yet on whether Eddie and Orlando signed a contract or not. The Nygma allows herself not to make any comment for the moment. Wait and see…

A new singer in town

Elijah, formerly known as Elias, signed with TNA. We all more or less thought he was AEW-bound so, obviously, some thought last night’s match was an appearance. Reports have since confirmed Elijah is now “All TNA Wrestling.”

We can honestly ask ourselves if a “War of the Singers” was really what TNA needed as Hendry’s next storyline. Okay, Elijah helped Hendry. Maybe they would form a team/band and irritate my eardrums for a while. Hendry needed an ally against the Nemeth brothers, but don’t expect it to last. One day, some guitars will rest in peace on the back or on the head of Hendry or Elijah… And Hendry will have a new contender for the TNA World Championship.

One thing is sure, don’t ask The Nygma to believe in Elijah when she has not started to believe in Joe Hendry yet…

Best of the Rest

The Death Machine has a Death Wish

The Sami Callihan I love is a psycho man, violent, crazy, and out of control. He wanted Mance Warner and Steph de Lander. For sure, he found them and started to destroy them. This storyline is great and will surely end up with one of my favorite matches in TNA, Barbed Wire Massacre.

Callihan and Warner have a long past of feuds and brawls (I let you find out here what happened in MLW 5 years ago). Like we say in my country, when a psychopath meets another psychopath, what do they tell each other? Some psychopathic stories.

A Dream Match definitely in the making

With TNA being in the home of WWE NXT at Full Sail, there were a lot of reasons to expect some NXT talents’ appearances. After a brilliant match from Leon Slater against JDC, as I expected, The System attacked Slater. The Hardy Boys came for the save. And NXT Champion Oba Femi crossed the line, the same way Moose crossed the line on Tuesday.

Since WWE and TNA announced their partnership, this match has been the one I have expected the most. Moose vs Oba Femi. The fact that Moose is the TNA X-Division Champion and Oba Femi the NXT Champion is really adding something more to a match already destined to become a classic.

The Nygma’s Last Word(s)

Aside from Elijah, Oba Femi, and the Colons crashing the Full Sail party, I could have dissected the whole episode and tried to analyze why Eric Young is targeting Steve Maclin, why Tessa Blanchard doesn’t want to wrestle, and AJ Francis’ stupid segment. Some storylines are making sense later. The Nutcracking spirit that has been my signature for many years now makes me say to you, don’t fall in the apples too fast (French way to say not to faint), that’s just a Nygma point of view…
