The stage is set for one of the most unforgiving matches of the year, the 2025 Elimination Chamber. While WrestleMania, Money in the Bank, and the Royal Rumble attract for their scale and novelty, the Elimination Chamber promises brutality like no other. Since its inception, it has been a highlight of the WWE calendar. Since 2017, the Elimination Chamber PLE has taken place in February or March, often providing a springboard for WrestleMania and the year ahead. And of course, it now comes with added stakes as the chamber winner receives a guaranteed shot at whichever WWE champion the Royal Rumble winner hasn’t chosen, which in this case means a date with destiny aka Cody Rhodes or Rhea Ripley. In this article, we’ll focus on the 2025 Elimination Chamber – men’s match, and all of the storylines that could be impacted by the ensuing bout.
2025 Elimination Chamber Rundown
Many rivalries renewed with nowhere to run
All six of the men’s places have now been confirmed. Seth Rollins’ victory over old rival Finn Bálor on Raw secured the final slot. He joins Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, Damian Priest, Logan Paul, and John Cena in an all-star lineup. Quality of the field aside, this year’s chamber will provide a steel and plexiglass stage for a number of intense, ongoing rivalries.
Punk and McIntyre will reunite following their 2024-defining rivalry. Meanwhile, Rollins has found himself engulfed in the flames of their feud. Punk beat Rollins at the Raw Netflix debut and dumped him out of the Royal Rumble last month. Rollins has beef with McIntyre too; his ill-timed MITB cash-in last July ruined Rollins’ most recent world title shot. It will be added motivation for Rollins who has endured a less than successful run since losing the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.
Priest’s past could cost him in the 2025 Elimination Chamber
Speaking of MITB cash-ins and world heavyweight champions, Damian Priest is making his second Elimination Chamber appearance having overcome Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman on Smackdown. Priest’s sole world championship came at the cost of McIntyre, successfully cashing in just five minutes after he’d beaten Rollins for the title at WrestleMania. As well as unsuccessfully cashing in against Priest last July, McIntyre was also eliminated at the Royal Rumble by the Archer of Infamy. His transfer to Smackdown is a clean slate, but the chamber is just another opportunity for Priest’s eventful past to haunt him.
McIntyre won last year’s Chamber thanks to a dramatic assist from Logan Paul. The ever unpopular Paul continues to court controversy but his rapid comprehension of professional wrestling has been nothing short of impressive. Paul’s brass knuckle knockout of Randy Orton gifted McIntyre the 2023 chamber win and he continues to show that he’s willing to do anything to secure the win. He comes into the 2025 Elimination Chamber with many enemies and the least experience but the no DQ ruling environment provides the perfect setting for Paul to thrive.
Route to the 2025 Elimation Chamber: Are Logan Paul and John Cena one of the same?
From the least experienced to the most, the chamber is Cena’s last chance to secure a headline match at WrestleMania. Cena and Paul are rather odd binaries in that regard. The most and least experienced participants but also gaining attention for the wrong reasons. Paul qualified by beating Rey Mysterio but his celebrity status has allowed him to skip many of the difficult steps that most professional wrestlers have to endure in order to succeed. Social media continues to offer many new routes to success. Still, that won’t matter a shred to the five wrestlers standing between Paul and WrestleMania.
As for Cena, he has relied on his stardom in a different way. Cena has done it all multiple times in WWE but he is the only participant to gain entry to the 2025 Elimination Chamber without qualification. If anyone deserves a free pass it’s Cena but, yet again, it’s news that won’t sit kindly with his opponents. Punk, McIntyre, Rollins, and Priest have many reasons to detest one another but they can all agree that Cena’s automatic entry leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Paul will be a major target but Cena should be cautious of the controversy surrounding his route to the chamber.
Picking a winner and potential roads to WrestleMania
Drew McIntyre: Last year’s chamber winner has endured a difficult 2024 which has bled into the beginning of the Netflix era. Drew has two chamber victories to his name and yet his attitude often costs him in far more straightforward scenarios. At this juncture, the 2025 Elimination Chamber seems likely to be the set-up/continuation of a feud that will conclude at WrestleMania. Chance of winning: 5/10
CM Punk: Should Punk win, it’ll be his first WrestleMania appearance since his loss to The Undertaker in 2013. Punk continues to discuss his great desire to headline WrestleMania – an accolade that somehow still eludes him. Punk, not one to play well with others, may just have too many enemies to overcome. But don’t rule him out and expect him to go far – possibly as far as runner-up. Chance of winning: 6/10
Seth Rollins: The chamber is made for Rollins and yet he has failed to win in three appearances or eliminate anyone. His poor record aside, Rollins is in the same boat as McIntyre and Punk. The three of them could very well cancel each other out. Again, Rollins seems destined to continue a feud via the 2025 Elimination Chamber as opposed to winning it outright. Rollins fans will be disappointed but the neutrals will be relishing the chance of a Rollins/McIntyre/Punk triple threat at WrestleMania. Chance of winning: 4/10
Damian Priest: Despite a breakout 2024 that established him as a main event singles star, Priest is the dark horse. Yes, he has enemies in the chamber but nothing so fiery as to put a bounty on his head. Avoid Punk, Rollins, and McIntyre’s Bermuda Triangle and the task becomes that much easier. Having battled with the Judgment Day throughout 2024, Priest will be all too aware of the dangers enemies pose. This well earned wisdom gives Priest a fighting chance. However, like so many of this year’s participants, a vengeful McIntyre could be Priest’s undoing. Chance of winning: 7/10
Logan Paul: It’d be the major upset and yet it is not an unthinkable one either. Of all the participants, Paul has proven that he is the most willing Machiavellian in this year’s chamber. In all endeavors, Paul advocates for working smarter, not harder. Still, when he does put the work in he has managed to claim some notable scalps. This will probably be the toughest test yet in his fledgling career. While he is unlikely to win, Paul will still be looking to make an impression and silence his critics. Perhaps his fate rests with a certain absent Legend Killer seeking revenge for last year’s controversial chamber loss. Chance of winning: 5/10
John Cena: The big draw, the man with the biggest target on his head, and the man with three Elimination Chamber wins to his name. Only Triple H has more. In his farewell year, a WrestleMania main event swan song seems a more than likely destination for John Cena. When he came up just short at the Royal Rumble, the chamber became Cena’s now or never. Desperate to close his WrestleMania story with a fitting final chapter, the road to glory must begin with a chamber victory. Chance of winning: 9/10
