Roxanne Perez Dresses As Bayley: Other WWE Stars Who Impersonated Their Rivals

Roxanne Perez got a big one over rival Bayley on NXT when she appeared dressed in her previous “Hugger” gimmick.

The distraction was enough to cost Bayley a match against Cora Jade. Jade has now been placed into the match for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Vengence Day.

Guilia will defend her championship against Jade and the feuding Bayley and Perez.

Although effective, Perez’s strategy to rile up Bayley by dressing up as Bayley isn’t unique.

Charlie Haas and The Big Show both worked gimmicks when they imitated fellow superstars for a considerable period of time.

Impersonating an opponent is even part of the MyRise Darkhorse storyline on WWE 2K24. Also in the MyFaction game mode, players can unlock Alter Ego cards. These include Rhea Ripley as Triple H, Kevin Owens as Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Juan Cena.

Outside of WWE 2K, here are other stars who impersonated their rivals on WWE TV.

Toni Storm Plays The Role Of A Lifetime

Over in AEW, women have also been wearing each other’s clothing to cause a stir. Toni Storm stopped dressing as her former self to play the part of her fierce rival Mariah May on Dynamite last week.

Storm adopted the mannerisms perfectly along with the outfit as she faced Queen Aminata. May accused Storm of playing ‘silly games’.

“The Glamour” once paid homage to Storm by dressing as her when the two were on better terms. May defends the AEW Women’s Championship against Storm at AEW Grand Slam on Saturday (February 15).

Nikki Bella Played By Everyone

Nikki Bella must be pretty neglectful with her locker key. The former WWE Divas Champion has had her style plagiarized on multiple occasions.

AJ Lee and Tyler Breeze have both dressed as Bella to gain heat.

Maryse slipped into Bella’s baseball hat and tight top for a widely popular skit. The Miz and Maryse playing Bella and John Cena is arguably the greatest imitation role ever seen in WWE.

The duo transferred the TV skit into a full-blown live act that had fans laughing in arenas on the road to WrestleMania.

It was an essential part of the build to the WrestleMania 33 match between Cena & Bella and The Miz & Maryse.

Not to pick sides over twins, Maryse also dressed as Brie Bella with The Miz imitating Daniel Bryan.

As well as sending up Nikki Bella, AJ Lee has dressed as Kane, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk.

Damian Mizdow, Meta-Powers

Damian Sandow took on the role of The Miz’s stunt double in 2014.

The Miz who has dressed up as Cena, The Rock, Fandango, and LA Knight obviously first bonded over the dressing-up box with Sandow.

Sandow had been impersonating the likes of Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart and Vince McMahon before he took on The Miz’s likeness. After an eventual split from The Miz, Sandow teamed up with Curtis Axel who had begun adopting some of Hulk Hogan’s mannerisms.

Sandow impersonated Macho Man Randy Savage and the Meta-Powers were born.

Before he was booed out of buildings, Hulk Hogan was a popular star to send up. Shawn Michaels, The Big Show, and Haas have all played the Immortal One.

That’s Gotta Be The Undertaker

The Undertaker somehow managed to get hold of an extra Kane outfit in 1999. The Undertaker used the disguise to get close enough to Vince McMahon to play the ultimate mind game with the Boss.

At that point, The Undertaker had taken the McMahon family hostage and Kane was part of Vince’s Corporation.

DX Does Dress Up

DX has been no stranger to raiding the dressing-up box. Triple H, X-Pac, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn and Chyna dressed up as The Nation of Domination in 1998 for a segment on Monday Night Raw.

DX went as far as to use blackface for the infamous spot. Mark Henry said it was not socially acceptable for DX to don blackface but that he didn’t mind as he knew the heat would be on them.

D’Lo Brown told Chris Van Vliet he wishes the segment had been done without blackface.

DX has also parodied The McMahon family.

Edge and Randy Orton turned the table on Triple H and Shawn Michaels when they parodied them. Take a look at this and some other superstar parodies below.
