On the February 10th edition of Monday Night Raw, Rhea Ripley made a huge announcement as she announced who her next challenger for the Women’s World Championship will be and when the match will take place.
Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley Challenges IYO SKY
It’s not often that the champion is the one doing the challenge but that was the case on Monday night. Following the events of last week in which Rhea Ripley accidentally cost IYO SKY her shot at the Elimination Chamber, Ripley is making good on owning up to her mistake. But as Ripley said it, she doesn’t owe SKY anything. This title match is something that Ripley wants so she’s giving it to SKY, three weeks from tonight.
After fighting alongside SKY during the 2022 and 2024 editions of War Games, this upcoming title match will be the first time Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY will face off in singles action in their careers. The match against SKY marks Ripley’s second title defense since defeating Liv Morgan to regain the championship on Netflix’ Raw debut. It should be a fantastic bout and one that comes with high stakes. Both SKY and/or Ripley will know who their WrestleMania opponent will be at that point, certainly adding some extra intrigue to their showdown on Raw in a few weeks.
