Melina Womens Royal Rumble

The 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble Match started with a big surprise for the fans in attendance and those watching from home. Entering the match number one was Sasha Banks, her attire inspired by Sailor Moon. Once she made her way to the ring, viewers awaited the entrant that would kick the match off opposite Banks. Entering the Women’s Royal Rumble at number two was none other than Melina. The former WWE Women’s and Divas Champion made her paparazzi-style entrance, and while her time in the match itself was short, she received a positive reception.

What to Know Following Former WWE Women’s and Divas Champion’s Return

While Melina made sporadic WWE appearances over the years, the 2022 Royal Rumble event marks her first in-ring appearance for the company since 2011. She was last part of a battle royal to determine a new number one contender for the Divas Championship, the match in question being won by Beth Phoenix. Melina achieved considerable success during her time in the company, being the manager for MNM, leading Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro, the latter also known as John Morrison, to victory on multiple occasions. In terms of singles accolades, she is a former 2x Divas Champion and 3x WWE Women’s Champion.
