Cameron, Ivory Enter 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble Match as Surprise Entrants

Cameron Womens Royal Rumble

Funk was on a roll in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble Match, as Cameron and Ivory entered the 30-woman match to secure a title match at WrestleMania 38. It’s important to note that this was Cameron’s first match in the company since 2016, her last televised appearance taking place in February of that month. She entered the match but was eliminated in seconds by WWE Official Sonya Deville, who had been sitting at commentary before she decided it was time to enter the match. Thus, Cameron’s WWE in-ring return was cut short. Meanwhile, Ivory made her Women’s Royal Rumble entrance while paying tribute to the Right to Censor faction, quickly being eliminated as well.

What to Know Regarding Surprise Entrants

Cameron may be best known for her participation on the revived Tough Enough, which began airing in 2011. She was eliminated before the finals, infamously declaring that her favorite match was Melina vs. Alicia Fox. Despite being eliminated from the show, she would go on to sign a deal with WWE, working for developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling. Cameron made her main roster debut in 2012, billed as one of “Funkasaurus” Brodus Clay’s “Funkadactyls” alongside Naomi. Cameron remained with the company until her release in May of 2016. Cameron made a brief return to professional wrestling in the summer of 2020, teaming with Nyla Rose in the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament. They lost in the first round of the tournament in question to the duo of Anna Jay and Tay Conti.

Meanwhile, Ivory stands as a WWE Hall of Famer, entering the 2018 class. Furthermore, she is a former 3x WWE Women’s Champion. Her last in-ring appearance for the company took place at the Evolution pay-per-view, where she was a participant in the battle royale for a Women’s Championship opportunity. In addition to her extensive work in WWE, not only in Right to Censor but as a Tough Enough trainer and veteran star, she worked for Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, standing as a former GLOW Champion and Tag Team Champion.
