NXT Review – The Nygma’s View

Champions defeated, but not dethroned

The newcomers Kam Hendrix and Mason Rook picked up a massive tag team victory together over NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo and North American Champion Myles Borne. Borne fell victim to a bevy of punishment as Rook and Hendrix took turns crushing the champion, but D’Angelo was quick to even the odds with his unbelievable power.

Unfortunately for the NXT Champion, his Spear on the outside backfired as he went crashing into the steel steps. Out of nowhere, Tavion Heights appeared and attacked Hendrix, but that distraction allowed Rook to take down Borne, only for Hendrix to steal the glory from his teammate and get the easy pin.

Kelani rhymes with opportunity

“Can somebody tell me what a girl has to do around here?” Kelani Jordan is the fastest homegrown talent in all of WWE, she said. She is better than everyone. She made Lola Vice tap out, but she was never given a chance at the NXT Women’s Champion. It’s her time to be the Champion. Izzi Dame pinned Lola Vice, too, so she deserves a shot, too.

Lola Vice stated that Jordan talked too much and Dame attacked her. Dame will have her title shot next week, but Kendal Grey appeared. She also has her eyes set on the title. Wren Sinclair attacked Dame and Jordan with a crutch from behind. Lola Vice was safe, for the moment.

Tristan Angels and Mr. NXT

Tristan Angels shone in his NXT debut, taking down a very game Romeo Moreno in singles action (he is a Spanish developmental talent). The brash Angels withstood an early storm before verbally berating Moreno, but Shiloh Hill appeared in the stands donning Mr. NXT attire. A frustrated Angels used it as fuel, beating Moreno with an innovative knee stomp. After the match, Angels asked Hill if he enjoyed the view. Who deserves to be Mr. NXT? The match is set for next week.
