What’s Next for May 2026?
Where storylines transpire after Double or Nothing remains to be seen. New York and its heaven-piercing skyscrapers loom in the distance. Already, the in-ring is stacking up with months and months of ongoing stories, like Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada’s ongoing rivalry. FTR’s war with Attitude Era stars Cage and Cope culminates in an “I Quit” match that can change the latter team’s tag career.
The Stadium Stampede returns as Chris Jericho unites with the Hurt Syndicate and The Elite against The Demand and the Don Callis Family, forgoing Anarchy in the Arena. Lastly, Thekla’s title is on the line against Hikaru Shida, Jamie Hayter, and Kris Statlander.
Nevertheless, AEW’s perception continues to grow. They were even referenced in Nick Offerman’s Apple+ show, “Margot’s Got Money Troubles”. The main issue I see now is the ongoing underallocation of time to women. AEW Collision highlights them well, but there needs to be more consistency.
That said, I continue to enjoy AEW, and I hope May continues that fulfillment.
