How Did Noam Dar Fare In His Return Match on 5/12 NXT?

If there’s one person who’s had a very interesting WWE career, it’s been Noam Dar. He debuted in 2016, taking part in the Cruiserweight Classic, and then he had a two-year run in 205 Live. In 2018, he made his debut in NXT UK, winning the NXT Heritage Cup three separate times on the brand. He brought the cup to NXT in 2023, where he’s been since. Afterward, he founded Meta-Four, a stable that consisted of himself, Jakara Jackson, Lash Legend, and Oro Mensah.

The group broke up after he suffered a leg injury the following year. He returned last April after months away and won the Heritage Cup for a fourth time. Unfortunately, he vacated the championship as another injury sidelined him for nearly another year. On the May 5, 2026 episode of NXT, he returned and confronted the Vanity Project. He accepted a match with Jackson Drake for the May 12 NXT. Would Dar be outmatched, or would time off help him get the win?

The Vanity Project’s Interference Costs Noam Dar the Victory

When news broke that Dar was going to be returning, fans didn’t know what he was going to do. He’s coming back to an NXT that’s nearly completely changed, with the exception of a few people. Jakara Jackson and Oro Mensah were released soon after Meta-Four’s breakup.

Lash Legend is now on the main roster in a tag team with Nia Jax. There would be no going back to a familiar face this time. Luckily, he got involved with some people very quickly. The Vanity Project took exception to his return, which is smart booking.

They are NXT’s hottest faction and are some of the youngest wrestlers on the brand right now. Dar is the second-longest tenured WWE wrestler in NXT, with the exception of Shawn Spears, although the latter came back to WWE two years ago and was on the main roster beforehand. They even made a joke about how he was relevant ten years ago. Would he teach them, specifically Drake, a lesson?

The match started with Dar kicking his legs, then knocking him to the ground. They grappled as the crowd chanted “Supernova” as a nod to his nickname, Supernova 11. He got him in a headlock, then knocked him down when he escaped the hold. Then he got him in an ankle lock as the Vanity Project looked on. He applied the pin, but couldn’t get the victory.

Drake was angry and then struck him multiple times with punches. The win was short-lived as Dar tripped him and kicked him to the outside. However, when he got back into the ring, Drake delivered a superplex that led to an unsuccessful pinfall. A cutter led to another failed pinfall, infuriating him.

The two exchanged many punches before Dar clotheslined him to the ground. A northern lights suplex, unfortunately, led to a double knee gut buster by Drake, but that led to yet another kickout. They grappled and punched each other, with each man throwing several rounds of offense.

Getting super tired, they both left the ring at the same time. Dar then punched Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes after staring down Myka Lockwood as he walked around the outside. But as he entered the ring, Lockwood held onto him. That allowed Drake to knee him in the face, causing him to collapse when he entered the ring.

Drake climbed to the top rope and delivered a 450 splash for the pinfall victory. Unfortunately, the numbers advantage was too much for Dar as he lost his first match in nearly a year. However, Drake didn’t have too much time to celebrate as DarkState arrived to confront them. The Vanity Project will have to deal with another strong faction, while Dar will have to wait a little longer to get that victory.
