Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (5/7/26) – a Matter of Titles

Here is the TNA Thursday Night iMPACT preview of the May 7, 2026, episode. With four matches and two segments, this episode once again is an all-System show. TNA Wrestling is now on the road to TNA Slammiversary on June 28. This may look like a long ride to the PLE, but it gives more reasons to watch Thursday Night iMPACT weekly on AMC (or TNA+).

As TNA Wrestling announced its full 2026 schedule of live events and PLEs, we know that before TNA Slammiversary on June 28, Thursday Night iMPACT will be live on May 14, but the rest of the episodes will be taped ones. The show is now reuniting 250K people every week on AMC, so let’s get it on this way.

Last night on NXT, there was no content related to TNA Wrestling. Then, NXT’s Arianna Grace has been the TNA Knockouts Champion since TNA No Surrender 2026. As long as an NXT star holds a TNA title, taking a look at what happened on NXT will be useful.

Crossing the lines also means crossing the reviews. NXT may be a WWE show; observing what happens on Tuesday nights has become essential to understanding what may happen on Thursday nights. That’s never been truer, and it keeps getting bigger. So, let’s Nygma-dive into it.

Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (5/7/26) – The Stakes at TNA Wrestling

This week on TNA Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC, we will witness two huge title matches as Léi Ying Lee battles Arianna Grace for the Knockouts World Title and The System defends the TNA World Tag Team Championships against Nic Nemeth and KC Navarro. Plus, EC3 and Eric Young look to settle their score in a violent No Disqualifications match.

After the heartbreak of Xia Brookside’s betrayal, costing her the title at TNA Rebellion, Léi Ying Lee gets another opportunity to capture the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Arianna Grace. Fueled by the encouragement of Tommy Dreamer, who called her a warrior last week on TNA Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC, Lee looks to overcome the odds and reclaim championship gold.

The TNA World Tag Team Championships will be defended as Bear Bronson and Brian Myers of The System face the dynamic pairing of Nic Nemeth and KC Navarro. With tensions rising and championship gold at stake, both teams head into the night looking to prove themselves in one of the night’s biggest matches.

EC3 and Eric Young meet in the iMPACT zone in a No-Disqualifications match after tensions reignited with EC3’s return at TNA Rebellion. With unfinished business between them and no rules to hold either man back, this rivalry is set to explode.

TNA World Champion Mike Santana is in the spotlight, and fans will hear what’s next for Santana as he continues to lead a new era in TNA Wrestling. Elayna Black has the floor, and anything could happen.

Weeks of tension boil over as Moose and Leon Slater once again stand side by side against The System. Following the controversial two-on-four encounter, Santino Marella stepped in to make this showdown an official Tag Team match against Eddie Edwards and Cedric Alexander.

The Nygma’s View

Titles defences

Léi Ying Lee faces NXT’s Arianna Grace, once again. Can she finally bring the TNA Knockouts Championship home? Can Lee become a 2-time Champion? As we witnessed at TNA Rebellion, Lee has two enemies. On Grace’s side, Stacks can do the absolute worst for his fiancée. Xia Brookside betrayed her former tag-team partner once; could she do it again? Nygma says: Two possibilities here, Stacks aside. Brookside cost Lee the match, and a feud starts. Or Lee becomes Champion, and Brookside will want her chance.

Bear Bronson and Brian Myers of the System defend the TNA World Tag Team Championship against Nic Nemeth and KC Navarro. Could Ryan Nemeth and AJ Francis cost them the title? Then, we talk about the System, a faction that can do absolutely everything to win. Nygma says: The System retains, no surprise, but please, if Nemeth and Nemeth could start to slap at each other…

Titles matter

TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater teams up with Moose against the System’s Eddie Edwards and Cedric Alexander. More than a simple tag team match, this match is about a record about to be broken. Could Slater overcome Alexander live on May 14 from Sacramento to become the longest reigning champion of all-time? Nygma says: Cedric Alexander already pinned Slater in a previous 4 vs. 2 match. A second time wouldn’t be a good omen for next week’s match.

Mike Santana has some things to tell us. He probably chose a new challenger. After Rich Swann, who could be next? Nygma says: I have nothing against the method, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Santino Marella or Daria Rae were opposed to him choosing. Did I tell you Steve Maclin was cleared?

Elayna Black also has some things to say. As a broken record, she will again bother us with her desire to become the TNA Knockouts Champion. Nygma says: Nothing. I already said it all.

Manners forgotten

EC3 and Eric Young face in a no-DQ/no-Rules match. Honestly, giving Eric Young this match stipulation is like offering him a gift. EY will destroy EC3. I could add pulverize, massacre, crumble, or break because “The Cleanse” Eric Young is the definition of no-rules. Nygma says: Hardcore match + EC3 destroyed + EY more maniac than ever = Nygma in the sky with diamonds.

I’ll see you on Friday with all the results and the review. Have you read and/or listened to my McKenzie Mitchell interview? As I have already said many times, 2026 is a loaded year for TNA Wrestling. Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC era is nothing but Nygma. How else could it be? Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
