NXT Champion Tony D'Angelo

WWE NXT Review (4/28/26) – Opportunity Time

The April 28, 2026, edition of WWE NXT was held in the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL. The “call-up after Mania” season is now over. And the NXT roster lost 8 of its most important members. After Ethan Page, Sol Ruca, and Joe Hendry called up to Raw, Ricky Saints, Blake Monroe, and Fatal Influence are now SmackDown-bound. Then, NXT is far from dead, and the show must go on.

Four matches were advertised for this NXT episode. After a vicious attack last week on NXT, Ricky Saints faces Shiloh Hill in the ring for his last NXT match. Dorian Van Dux teams up with EK Prosper against the Birth Right. After Dion Lennox last week, Saquon Shugars will try to grab the NXT North American Championship off Myles Borne’s waist.

Also, NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo will be looking for his next challenger. Is he related to the mysterious box with the Japanese “War” symbol D’Angelo received last week? Finally, The Rockstar Lizzy Rain makes her NXT debut. Because TNA Wrestling could be involved, let’s Nygma-dive into what happened last night.

About Steph Franchomme

Steph, for Stephanie, is not only eNYGMAtic, charismatic, but also “très chic.” Living in France, her birth country, she broke the language barrier to become a respected writer and interviewer on many wrestling promotions. She has developed a very special bond with TNA Wrestling over time to the point of becoming an Authority on the company. The French Nygma, as she loves to call herself, has been a wrestling writer and editor for nearly a decade for SteelChair Magazine/Wrestling SC, TWM and Distortion Media. She has interviewed hundreds of wrestlers from WWE, MLW, TNA, NXT, AEW, and many more promotions. The Nygma is now the new “Authority” on TNA Wrestling and NXT for Last Word on Pro Wrestling. The writer/editor also runs @3WWrestling, her own platform.
