NXT Champion Tony D'Angelo

WWE NXT Review (4/28/26) – Opportunity Time

The Nygma’s View

Myles Borne, the DarkState dismantler

The North American Championship continues to elude DarkState as Saquon Shugars came up short in his effort to dethrone Myles Borne. The champion was shining early on as his X-Plex, Gutwrench Suplexes, and huge dive onto the members of DarkState at ringside brought the crowd to its feet.

Shugars caught a huge break as the top turnbuckle padding came undone, causing Borne to injure his throat when he got hung up on it. Unfortunately for Shugars, DarkState remains on different pages as Dion Lennox attempted to hit Borne with a steel chair, forcing Shugars to confront and stop him.

That distraction allowed Borne to regain momentum and hit Borne Again to retain his title. After the match, Evolve’s Tristan Angels and Kam Hendrix confronted the champion, with Hendrix even dropping him with a huge Uranage.

An Evil new challenger for Tony D’Angelo

NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo said that the more this place changes, the more it stays the same.  The one constant thing in NXT is that people come and go, but now is the constant. There is no one tough enough to kick him off the mountain, including the guy who sent the package.

D’Angelo said that he wanted to know about the box and who sent it. The lights went out, and someone came to the ring. He handed something to D’Angelo. It was EVIL. After he left the ring, Tavion Heights attacked D’Angelo and hit a belly-to-belly suplex. A man from the crowd followed. Former PROGRESS and NOAH talent, UK’s Will Kroos, hit a moonsault on D’Angelo.

BirthRight fails again

“Super” Sean Legacy is officially back, and he boosted his team to a big victory over BirthRight. EK Prosper was initially set to team with Dorian Van Dux, but BirthRight took him out before the match, setting the stage for Legacy’s epic return. After Prosper and Legacy took out Connors, Legacy lined up Stacks for a huge twisting neckbreaker for the win. BirthRight attempted to attack their opponents after the match, but Tate Wilder arrived and chased them off.
