NXT Stand and Deliver (4/4/26) – Review (with Ratings) and Consequences

Sol Ruca defeated Zaria (2,5/5)

What to retain? What’s next? The match was great, but Sol Ruca didn’t need to win when Zaria definitely needed it. She just hadn’t won anything on her own,  and that’s not a good sign. I was really hopeful that tonight was going to be the night that Zaria finally got her revenge on Sol Ruca.

I have absolutely nothing against Ruca. Zaria looked strong, kicking out of two Sol Snatchers, including one on the ramp, but it just wasn’t enough. This seems to be the end of their feud, but what’s next for both ladies? Sol Ruca faces Izzi Dame on NXT this Tuesday. When it comes to Zaria, she may need some time off to come back with a fresh story in which she can be the monster I think she was meant to be.

NXT North American Champion Myles Borne defeated Johnny Gargano (3,5/5)

What to retain? What’s next? It could have been the match of the night if Dion Lennox hadn’t attacked Myles Borne as he was showing respect to Gargano. Borne had to beat a former NXT Champion and main roster star, which he did in a big way. It was nice to have the old Gargano back, even for one night. While Gargano ultimately came up short in his fight against Borne, both men did exceptionally well.

There was no way this match was ever going to be bad. We saw his signature Superkicks, we saw One Final Beat, we saw several attempts at the Gargano Escape. In fact, Gargano showed us all who “Johnny Takeover” is. For him to reignite that fire in him for the NXT crowd was a blessing to watch. Borne has everything to help carry the company into the future. Ok, I changed my mind, Match of the Night. Period.
